Thanks BTW, I'd never seen that video for "Are You Single"!

You're welcome and cool Deja-tracks ! That video has also been officially released on an Salsoul-dvd compilation from a few years back.
I think copies are easy to find on Amazon, eBay, or other online-shops.

keyboardist Charles Cedell Carter and saxophone-player Thomas Lockett were 2 other Slave-members who joined Aurra in the past.
Aurra had no shortage of bassplayers lol. Besides Steve Washington, Aurra's other first bassplayer was Wayne "Buddy" Hankerson who later joined Young & Company and Steve Arrington's Hall Of Fame.
Raymond Jackson followed as a next bassplayer and later joined James Mtume's group, together with Aurra-keyboardist Philip Field.
Aurra-guitarist A.C. Drummer joined later Steve Washington's band Civil Attack and Steve's solo-album ("Like A Shot"), and i think that even Curt and Drac joined some jams on those projects.

Yeah, I dug Buddy on Bass, too!

I have the Civil Attack record, But I didn't like it as much as the Slave/Aurra/Deja/Steve Arrington stuff.....

And in the second and third pictures Starleana looks like
an 80's chick on the front of an S-Curl kit box.
lol
I wonder if she's still married to James"JT"Taylor.

Dunno...

but yeah,You ain't kiddin' about that picture! I loved the group, but let's just say that probably wasn't the best photo to go with for your album cover lol -- I mean, that shit was hilarious even back when it came out, lol ....

I tried to find and post here 2 great Aurra-pictures from the myspace of Aurra's drummer Kevin "Ignatz" Moore, but he deleted his space.
Another cool pic on his photo-album was of him and Steve Washington, with Steve holding an RIAA-gold sales award for one of Slave's albums.
I got those snapshots archived somewhere on an external hard-disc though lol.

Vain...yeah and the 12 is better...Shep tore that one UP.

Pali....NO on Civil Attack?? I thought Steve was FIERCE on the bass on that one (I.E. "On The Phone"). Not as tight as Aurra's first 3 tho (I.E. "Nasty Disposition, or "Coming To Get You")...agreed.

Great projects though...always loved these bands..beautiful blend of melodic funk.

Salsoul has a pretty descent digital box set for the Aurra material....3 disc....has most of the jamz.
