I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

I only listen to the radio in my car and while at work. And if I hear a Lady Gaga song one more time... lol Time to change the station.

See, with me not listening to radio, I didn´t even know who she was till I saw a thread about her over here a week or two ago. lol

I've heard her mentioned on the TV Guide channel when I've flipped over there to see their chart of upcoming television shows on all the channels. People always say "If you don't like the music then just don't listen to it" but hell you can't escape it. When I watch old episodes of "Soul Train" on the Centric network, every commercial break contains an advertisement for some new shit hop album. I don't listen to classical music and don't know the names of most of the musicians so why the hell do I know all the names of these shit hop artists? Because you can't escape it. It's like being in shit hop hell. lol

This site for the last several years has served as one of my radio stations.

Digging deeper and exploring territory either vastly under appreciated or in some cases even unknown.

The wiser someone is, the more consistency in passion, the more I listen. But that hardly exists anymore on commercial radio.

I actually just recently discovered this forum. I can already tell we have some very passionate and very knowledgeable music fans here. I think what also sets this forum apart from some of the others I've visited is you can have a mature discussion here. On some forums, they laugh at you if you have a different opinion than their own.

lol Yeah. "Contratulations! You´re pregnant. *Slaps his face*" falloff That was the last episode that aired over here. It´s genius.

Unfortunately that type of offense exists here also.

But overall I find more diversity, civility and intelligence here. It's a fuller, brighter spectrum.

But some days it does feel a bit defeated.

I see your point. I guess there might never be a place where that doesn't exist. I feel like when people are passionate about something, they tend to take more offense if someone disagrees with their point of view.

You neeed to do better shopping. Ipod adapters link into the FM tuner and pick up a dormant broadcast frequncy in the mid - hi 90s. They get power off your cigarete lighter and send sound to your speakers. Now there may be a small problem betting it to stay in place, but that's minor.

Absolutely.

I just try my best (and sometimes unfortunately still fail) to tune out when the passion turns into zealotry, fanaticism or obsession (for either an artist or one’s opinion).

In discussions it seems like a good deal of the problems arise either out of semantics (which usually can be assuaged) or when we step outside our knowledge base to prove our superiority.

And if there's any superiority to be found, it certainly won't be when one stoops so low in an attempt to show so high.

Yep. A FM transmitter can work miracles. You can't just buy a cheap one, though.

Andy, you should invest in an mp3 player of some sort and a FM transmitter. That way, you will never have to listen to boring radio ever again.

I would recommend xm radio, but The Groove (the old school channel) has gotten away from real funk and has started playing the same crap over and over. The decade channels are great, though. The 80s on 8 is my favorite.

I haven't listened to radio in years, there's nothing on it for me...

Same here.

My 160GB ipod has over 19000 songs (over a 1100 full length albums all organized, have full album cover, proper artist names, songs titles, features, superb sound quality etc.)

That's all I need. F the radio.

Mainstream radio sucks. Sick of hearing Lady Gaga, over and over again.
