Tom Joyner mentioned this the other day. He then played a musical tribute.

I just hope that Ronald Isley can remember to pay his federal taxes this time around.

True. It was a damn shame that he had to do a stint at his age.

But I'm glad he got through it.

From the rumors I heard, they only caught up with him for his taxes only after they found out he was cashing his deceased brother's royalty checks. They were trying to convict him of that also, but decided to go the tax route.

What I still don't get is why he couldn't pay the taxes in the first place? The man has had some major hits over the last 10 or 15 years and should have been making a decent pay check. Not to mention, he was touring constantly and selling well. With him owing $12 million, he could have made arrangements so that he wouldn't have gone to jail.

Didn't he sell half of his publishing royalties a few years ago? Supposedly, it was to help pay his taxes.
