Totally agree with U though Bob Dylan is a legend. I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

The only good thing "Bod" Dylan did was introduce the Beatles to marijuana. Changed the music world forever!

Bob Dylan is one of my favorites. I just saw him last Saturday night in Berkeley, and it was one of the best times that I have seen him. Some people might laugh at this, but his voice sounded amazing.

Kevin Coyne was a better lyricist and singer.

I just caught three Dylan shows, and, I have to say, it's the best he's sounded in a decade. Should you have the chance, GO SEE HIM! Occupy Alphabet Street!

And..I should add that 'Visions of Johanna' is the greatest lyric ever. And it's not even close. I think it was George Harrison who said, and I'm paraphrasing, 'Bob Dylan makes Shakespeare sound like Billy Joel'. Occupy Alphabet Street!

I'll steal this from Mike Scott of The Waterboys
Dylan a God ? He's not a God. He's a man who made commitments to his talent and his art that he has never broken. He's not a God. His music and writing have touched God-like spaces, and exposed us to them, but he is a man. He's a man who, experiencing and witnessing pain and love, has distilled them into his work, his art, his trade. He has done this often magnificently, always uniquely. But he's not a God. He's a man. He's a man who has achieved mastery in his craft. The mastery reminds us of God. But he's not a God. Gods are for worshippers. Gods are for image-swallowers. Dylan is too good for that. Dylan is too real. His music doesn't suck our energy; it gives us energy. It doesn't matter whether or not Dylan loves us. Because of his commitment to his music, it loves us. He's not a God. He's a man with a man's flaws, a man's gifts, a man's dilemnas, a man's shadows and passions. He has owned these, inhabited them, lived them, passed through their fire. Without them he could not have written what he has. Or sung how he has. Or told his own story and in doing so, told ours. He's not a God. He's a man. Thank God. Mike Scott, Findhorn 2002

I dig his lyrics. "Like a Rolling Stone", "All Along the Watchtower", "Mr. Jones" and "Hey Mr. Tambourine Man" are probably my favorite songs from him. [Edited 10/15/09 19:16pm]

The song is called 'Ballad of a Thin Man', not 'Mr. Jones'. Occupy Alphabet Street!

I don't know about a god but like him a lot. Positively 4th Street is a great piece of venemous vomit. Lay, Lady, Lay is charming in a strange way and funny. The entire Desire album is good and is a fav at this moment.
I love to watch Don't Look Back. He appears to be "performing" throughout most of it but it's still very telling. No Direction Home is good too. The death threat scene is amusing. His FANatics are more fanatical than the rest and that ain't a good thing. Is There A Switch For That?
