The 1st verse reminds me of Skyy's Superlove.

Great song, but I hate how they dogged her by putting a skinny girl lip-syncing her voice,,,,I wonder if Ms.Wash ever voiced her opinion about this.

Wow,,,,good for her.

I remember when they made a short profile about her in VH-1, Whitney dissed them big time. I didn't know however that there was a lawsuit.

Thanx for the clarification.

No problem. Yeah, Martha's voice was all over the airwaves back then: "Everybody Everybody," "I Don't Know Anybody Else," "Gonna Make You Sweat," "You're My One and Only (True Love)," "Strike It Up"...

This is the very first song that comes to mind when I think of the word "gay". This was THE hottest song the year I came out and we shook a many a ass and did a few other things to this song too. lol A gay classic!

I didn't have cable at the time but I heard about the little skinny bitch in the video. Hell, the first time I ever heard the song, without even knowing who the singer was, I knew it had to be a big girl because not too many little skinny heffers have that much power in their voice.

falloff You WHORE! In that picture, you look like the guy in "Rocky Horror Picture Show". lol

That was definately my favorite of the gay years also. These little queens these days don't know how to party like we used to.

nod

Martha Walsh once sued C+C Music Factory, Black Box, AND Seduction for not getting any album credits for her vocals.

With C+C, Martha was only on lead vocals for Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) whole Zelma Davis was on lead vocals for all of the other tracks. With Black Box, Martha was on lead vocals on the whole album. With Seduction, Martha did some backing vocals on a few tracks.

nod Correct! Except that they used a Loleatta Holloway sample for Ride On Time. Those Italo-house producers were too damn cheap to pay Loleatta to re-record her vocals in their Italy-based studio. disbelief lol

THAT'S^ Katherine Quinol, the "lead vocalist" for Black Box's debut album. I even remember her appearance on Soul Train. This woman have never sung one note on any of tracks at all.

Both Loleatta Holloway and her songwriter/producer Dan Hartman did sue Black Box for copyright violations (Love Sensation was the sample used for Ride On Time), but all matters were settle out of court.

They had folks sueing them from all directions. lol

But just look how great their music sounded. Just imagine if they had treated Martha right and put her in the videos and television appearances. And also if they approached Loleatta the right way and got her to contribute also. They could have put out a lot more albums and could have been one of the best groups of the 1990s. Instead, just look at the bullshit that we ended up with dominating the 1990s (shit hop). lol
