Absolutely my favorite song by them. I remember LOVING this song as a kid.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

This song is TIGHT! It's from their "Madam Butterfly" album which was recently (2004) released as an import from Capitol's Masters of Funk & Soul series. Other hot joints from Tavares include "Bad Times" from Supercharged (1979 also) and "Turn Out the Nightlight" from Loveline (1981.) LOVE these brothas! smile

nod I have that remaster. On this album, they were leaving disco behind and returning to a soulful R&B sound. The results are truly impressive,it's one of their most consistent albums.I always thought that the title track should have been a single.Other strong tracks include "One Telephone Call Away" and "I'm Back For More".

Oh yeah,"Bad Times" music Their 1977 'Love Storm' album is a must-have.Hell,you can't go wrong with any of their 70s albums.

I think my earliest memory of Tavares is..."Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel".Heard it all the time in the spring/summer of '76.That song was a MAJOR hit.

What I don't understand is how or WHY none of their actual studio albums throughout the late 70's/early 80's aren't even available on CD. It's beyond me. But rock on and I'm glad that you dig 'em too Starmon! Peaceout! Starr

Makes no sense shrug Last time I checked, the only Tavares studio albums that are available on CD are 'Check It Out/Hard Core Poetry' (an import featuring both albums on one disc) and 'Madam Buttefly' (a Canadian import).I have both of these. It's a shame that an album like 'Sky High',which was a huge success back in the day, isn't even available on CD.Fortunately,I have all of their albums on vinyl, but I'd love to see some fresh remasters on CD.

Hey, Dave: You are TOO COOL! Sky High was TIGHT too! I ended up finally getting Madam Butterfly on CD for about $20.00 and would LOVE TO SEE the likes of "Supercharged," "Love Uprising" or even "Loveline" on CD. Those all boasted charting singles. It's not fair! Peaceout!

I absolutely LOVE "Bad Times!" That sax solo in there has GOT 2B one of the most awesome solos in the history of R&B! I also LOVE the extended (I've got it on vinyl) Disco version of "STraight from the Heart" with all that shoutin' and those percussion breakdowns! Whoo HOO! That shit is TIGHT!
