I would agree that Addicted to Love is close to the sound that U Got The Look was cribbing (bettering, in my opinion). --- I don't know how much creating of the Minn sound Jimmy and Terry did. According to Morris it was Prince and Andre and him that came up with the proto-type of the minn sound which they called "Future Funk". Jimmy and Terry had no input on the the two Time CDS and I always belived they tweked the Minn Sound went they went out on their own. | |

Prince just did an interview and said he listened to Robert Palmer right? and he said that you can hear the influence in a song like U Got The Look so i searched for a song that i think may have inspired him of course it was just an opinion why don't y'all enlighten me because your clue to 'do the research' on the song is vague Hi japanrocks...yeah Laura is correct, and most older fams have heard that it was "Addicted to Love" that Prince liked...but u better believe I love Robert Palmer's version of "I didn't mean..."...that is some hot funk...Cherelle's and Mariah's version didn't do it for me... peace . without taking it literally, it feels Like U got the look is damn near a cover of simply irresitible. U got the look kinda takes it in a new direction/level. The bridge is MUCH better. | |
