I wonder if Lionel is willing to throwdown on his sax these days. He'd probably break out in hives if he couldn't perform Hello and Dancin on the Ceiling. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I don't think Lionel has it in him to funk like he used to. I gave up on the notion after his 'Coming Home' album. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

I'm still waiting for that Commodores reunion Earlier this year,Lionel said it would happen after his latest solo album.Well, now that his solo album has flopped (lol),there's nothing keeping him from reuniting with the guys.
Recently, two bandmembers claimed that Lionel was giving them "mixed signals" about a reunion. He would go to the press and talk excitedly about it,but wouldn't mention it all when he would see the guys

I'm not holding my breath. At this point it's "too little, too late". Been waiting since 1990 and Lionel doesn't seem to be sincere about it.

Sweet Clyde and William King. I know Lionel kind of abandoned these guys back then and the press always pandered to Lionel over the rights to their songs. I know Clyde and William used to be bitter over that but it seems like they should have let it go by now. I think Lionel is actually sincere about doing it but something tells me Clyde and William King still harbor some resentment towards Lionel. Don't laugh at my funk

I think it was Clyde and William King.I read a blurb in a recent issue of JET where they made those comments. They seem to think that there is a communication breakdown with Lionel. Both sides need to stop playing games.Either do it,or stop talking about it! They should start rehearsing now and then go out in early 2010 on a major tour.

Yeah,I kinda feel like it may be too late. The 90s was a perfect time for a reunion .That's when we were going through a 70s revival.Bands like EW&F,Zapp, and even Kool and The Gang (with JT Taylor) were reuniting and touring like crazy, taking full advantage of the funk nostalgia that was going on back then. The Commodores may have missed that boat, but I'd still like to see them do it.
