Disgruntled Band Member suing Sade-says she never did her own music

Found this on you tube-his name is Paul Cooke:

"I co wrote all the songs with the band along with all the other members of the band at the time, we all worked on the songs and wrote them together at Solid Light? Then we demoed for EMI and met Robin Millar and put all the songs onto tape in the hope that we would ALL get a recording contract. If i am clinging to anything it is the fact that the singer went behind eveyones back and singed a SOLO deal, then gave herself the lion share of the song writing credits. That is not fair is it? "

" agree with you on the problem part, i do have one in-regards to my moral rights and intellectual rights related to my work with Sade in 82-83-84. We had formed the partnership and all our money from gigs paid for the studio and paid to promote the band to record companies. We where the band and had our musicians? including the singer we chose eg: Ms Adu from Pride. "

"In response to making it big i did, in 1982-3 i formed Sade:) I then recorded the songs we had created for the band and the album became famous, i recived a triple platinum disc from the BPI. I also played more than once on TOTPS with the band i formed and played the song i had worked on with the band to millions of people via TV. After that I pursued various musical careers and worked on an incredible amount of music projects sometimes with other famous muscians such as the band Madness et al "

"She did the lyrics on all the songs so fair dues but she never shaped any of the music period. i heard in a solicitors meeting some melody's she came up with for Your Love is King. She used to strum a guitar in the studio as though she could play and i think conned the producers and everyone there at the time."

"Absolutely the band never grew just pedaled the same old shit for years. I left because the band went from being progressive to being lame frankly. "

"Just trying to find Sade's house on Google Earth, I think it is 23 Highbury Crescent, London. She complained about a development overlooking her, so its one of the houses either side + she has a studio there so I thinnk it is 23 or the on next door, why not knock on the door and find out: "

FYI: "Sade" was actually a band. Sade, the singer, was the singer of the band. It's a lot like "Santana."

When he said "island", I was thinking of Jamaica or something like that. For some reason, I never think of England as an island, even though I know it is

England isn't an island, it has borders with Wales and Scotland. I think you meant Britain is an island.

Sade banned herself from Jamaica because there is still a warrant out for her arrest for traffic violations.

the band has always received writing credit. if anything, Sade Adu has bended over backwards to make sure the world understands that Sade is a band. She's corrected reporters and when she was nominated for an AMA in the female category she (or whomever) made sure the band was introduced during their performance.
