U don't have 2 play "complicated" to get down. Listen 2 Nile Rodgers, Jimmy Nolan,Howard Scott, Charles "Skip" Pitts, George Johnson, Johnny Graham, Lenny Kravitz and Steve Cropper. All these guys a lot of times were playin simple licks, but when you put 'em together with the rest of the band they made magic. Both Dre and Big Boi can work the pads , keyboards, and programming but most of the live instrumentation is played by Organized Noize.

Sleepy Brown-Keyboards/Vocals
Aaron Mills-Bass
David Whild-Guitar
Debra Killings-Bass/Vocals
Preston Crump-Bass

I saw Big Boi a few weeks ago and he was promoting his album that's supposed to be out in the next few months. We'll see shrug

I was just going to ask about that... the first two singles came out a year ago....

The last i heard from them was Big Boi was going to do a solo album, then Andre 3000 was going to do a solo album. Then an Outkast album... But it's been silent for a year now. I guess there in the studio again. I'm really looking forward to an Andre 3000 solo album.

there are actually some great songs on there and in my opinion they take hip-hop to another level sometimes that not even hip-hop fans can appreciate

yup. it's got some filler, but could've been pretty amazing with some editing. I'm pretty sure we'll all be listening to it a decade from now though.

In addition, they have in-house musicians and members of Organized Noise that can play instruments..so lets shut down the real musicians/real instruments talk before haters get started.

I was in LA in 2006 making a documentary for the BBC about 'Pac, staying in a hotel in Hollywood. In the week I was there, it was the premiere of Outkast's Idlewild movie, so there were a lot of artists and DJ's around who were in town for that.

When I say that not one person could find anything good to say about that movie, that's an understatement. LOL.

I think they put a lot into that project and when it flopped it through them off course, especially after the success they'd had just prior with Speakerboxx/The Love Below. I never saw the movie, but I heard 4-5 songs from it and didn't like any of them.

I think that entire project (the movie and the soundtrack) was ill-conceived.It was like when Prince followed up 'Purple Rain' with 'Under The Cherry Moon'....the masses couldn't relate.A big flop can sometimes throw an artist off track, but it could also inspire them to make a truly outstanding album,to prove that they still "have it".

At least there was some campy, comic value to UTCM. Idlewild the movie was Soul Plane terrible. I liked the album for the most part though.

why can't they take a break and enjoy their success and earnings, enjoy their families, and build up anticipation?

I can think of a few artists that need to go somewhere for a while and be quiet and out my face neutral ah-BeyonceMariahLilWayne-choo

Both have solo albums in the pipeline and they will publish as Outkast after that, or so they have said.

Big Boi's album's been delayed by label issues. The songs released from it thus far are pretty awesome. Particularly "Shine Blockas" (feat. Gucci Mane).
