Song Title Help from the New Jack Era I have some songs that someone sent me on a compilation CD they did. A LOT of New Jack Swing era songs. The ones I don't know, I've been able to google and find the title/group, but here are three that are alluding me.
1: "Ohhh, do you really want him ooohh, do you really want me? "Ohhh, do you really want him Trying to play with my heart We were finished at the very start Don't ever waste your time...." Almost sounds like BBD. It has a breakdown w/ a guy talking on a phone. 2: Spoken intro "Godfather, tell me what it was like when you was a little boy Well song, out there, back in my day, we had a lot more traditional The kids these days with their disco.... We had a lot more heart, a lot more spirit, more soul..." "Soul" is sung a lot in the chorus. "I remember not too long ago all the music playing with soul People moving to a soulful groove almost daily.... Now music's changed, and it's lost that thing... "Helps us find our soul...can you help us please?" Also sounds like MC Lyte might be rapping on it. 3: I can't deny, you really light my fire You bring out the desire in me I never felt this way, my baby My body can't explain this feeling inside of me Never really felt this way, my baby Girl, what you do to me Don't ya wanna shake it with me, my baby Don't ya wanna kick it with me, my baby Come on let me show ya tonight....shake it up, shake it up, shake it up"

1. Today
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

I love this one from them too, from the House Party soundtrack. I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

MC Lyte - Dr. Soul (1989) for some reason, it won't play on youtube anyway, that was the cut

anyway, that was the cut Sah-weet! Two down one to go! Thanks for the help. I just want to label these CDs correctly. I had to do the same to four others. I've certainly learned a few new jack (and older R&B) songs tonight! haha
