"Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera

I would never have thought that I would really love an Aguilera's song and I think that she's finally a very good singer, maybe this collaboration is not a so bad idea...

Yeah, I actually like her whole album. Take away all the make-up and the "slutty" clothes and she not bad at all. I don't mean to sound like a 12 year-old girl but she really is better than Britney.

I disagree. I don't like this song at all. It raises no emotions in me as other sadder songs do.
Christina A doesn't do it for me at all.

I'm with you...extremely cliched, derivative and not catchy in the least. Same for the video in which the message (clearly conveyed in the lyrics) is conveyed with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the nuts.

True. Although I wish the video coincided with the song.

Her whole cd is good, she just has an image problem. I can't believe we see so many skanky video vixens (Madonna, Pink, Shakira) That so many people went crazy over Christina. I thought it was strange. The cd is good, whatever she wears is her business and her publicist.

I Like Her Voice.but I think the Industry is PIMPING Her into being something that She is not&I also think She is also done with doing whatever it takes too stay on the same Peer Level of Britney for Instance instead of just letting Her Gift Shine.but in order too get Play She has too go with the Flow.

did it need to be subtle? it is a song/video/message directed toward teenagers. and it's a good one for them. why waste it by making it subtle? the fact that it's NOT subtle makes it all the better. it's very in your face showing you exactly what it's about. actually SEEING a transvestite, or a girl with an eating disorder, or a young skinny boy or 2 men kissing is more powerful in this case than something that would just kind of hint at thest things or skirt around the issues.

I'm with Aaron on the video opinion. Despite the song being cliched and unbeautiful!, the video was different than the ones that is playing on mtv.

I guess I see your point. I think I let my dislike of the artist prevent me from fairly assessing the video. As you say, the message of the song (though I don't like the song per se) is certainly not something that most people would (hopefully) find fault with and if the video helps to clarify the importance of confidence and self-respect to it's intended audience (which I'm not positive is ONLY teenagers) then sure, that's a good thing.

But I still really dislike Christina Aguilera. Just not feeling her.

I'm surprised to say this, but I actually like this song! The song and the video both have a powerful message, and unlike most of the other young female "singers",Christina can actually sing.Expect this song to go far!

i like this song too. i didn't like the video either but her target audience is a generation that you have to hit over the head in order to get your message across.

the cd is really excellent. yes, it is a bit all over the place, but she's trying to "find herself" and her voice in this industry so that's to be expected.

i think once she figures it all out, christina's going to be a force on radio and in video.

I don't like the song at all.

CA have a very nice voice when she ain't trying to be too hip and over-sing.

I heard her Etta James' cover live and I couldn't anderstand a thang from her word becoz she screams soo damn much.

Pink on the other hand is cool although I'm starting 2 dislike her attitude.

Thought she was a cut above Brittney talent wise. Liked her first album and single, the David Frank (from the system) penned Genie in a Bottle. This album just doesn't cut it. Also she broke Whitney and Mariah's record of seeing how fast you can become so full of yourself it's sickening. I said she would be the one to last for 15 -20 years after her first cd but after seeing what's happened to her in the last year, make that 15 or 20 minutes. She's done.
