Leela's is the better version. I love the original so much. I don't like Mariah's version at all, everytime it comes on the radio I have to turn it. I like the New Jersey Mass Choir's version, but I wouldn't say it was better than the original. I actually like Mariah's, but I wouldn't say I love it. The major thing that bothers me is the plastic production of the song. The song is a very epic type song that (to me) requires a good arrangement and that is where Mariah and The Dream failed. I like the New Jersey Mass Choir's version, but I wouldn't say it was better than the original. I actually like Mariah's, but I wouldn't say I love it. She had rockers like Dave Navarro in one video for some remake she did (Bringing On The Heartbreak?), yet there wasn't a fucking guitar in the whole thing worth hearing. I thought it was a joke the first time I saw the video. It's a total farce. Her version of "The Beautiful Ones" sounds like her and Dru Hill were in after glow, playing Purple Rain, and someone set their drink on the turntable while they karaoke'd their way through side 1. | |
