Guy Ritchie says he still loves "retarded" Madonna LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Call it delayed reaction.
A year after Madonna called him "emotionally retarded," former husband Guy Ritchie said in an Esquire magazine interview that hit the Web on Wednesday that he still loves her, but that she is "retarded" herself. The 41 year-old British director said Madonna "makes things happen" and works hard at her career. "And, of course, here you go: I still love her," Ritchie told the magazine. "But she's retarded, too." The couple finalized their divorce in a U.K. court last November, after eight years of marriage. They have a 9 year-old son together, and also adopted a boy from Malawi. During an October 2008 concert in Boston, Madonna told the crowd, "This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall in that category. I know I do." Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour, which wrapped last month in Israel, smashed her own record for top-grossing tour by a solo artist, with $408 million from 85 concerts. Ritchie, famed for such British gangster films as "Snatch" and "RocknRolla," returns to theaters in December with "Sherlock Holmes," a raucous adaptation of the Arthur Conan Doyle detective stories, with Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/...us_madonna

eek $408 million from 85 concerts. eyepop Is that for real? [Edited 10/8/09 11:10am] "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I read she was a victim of domestic violence from Sean Penn, that he shoved her head in a toilet bowl, during a fight. I guess she isn't the victim anymore, she is the violator!!! Ritchie was too square for Madonna anyway, I can't believe she stayed married to him that long. Madonna is the bad girl that can't go good. That's about how much 700 Guy Ritchie movies would gross (something tells me, including "Sherlock Holmes"....he's going to kill Downey's career resurgence).

i heard worse about it actually. that he tied her up for a weekend with a telephone cord and something about her head in the oven? "details" are hazy. supposedly she was pregnant with his kid and after whatever went down, she went and got rid of it and told friends she'd never carry his child.

but surely she doesn't get all they money. Paying her dancers, muscians other employees makes the least costs Transporting, concert agencies, her managers, Live Nation and organizers... But still she gets an estimated 1,5 million $/concert. I can't belive she doesn't have less than half a billion.

Her tours are hugely successful and highly lucrative.Do the math: Drowned World Tour (2001) gross: $75 million Re-Invention Tour (2004) gross: $125 million Confessions Tour (2006) gross: $260.1 million Sticky And Sweet Tour (2008 and 2009) gross: $408 million include the profits from the tour merchandise, and TV deals (Drowned World and Confessions were shown on TV),and we're talking some major bucks here. No one's buying CDs anymore,so artists have to find other ways to generate income.Looks like Madonna has done exactly that.
