Great song. Great choreography.
It's hard to believe this song wasn't a top ten hit which prompted Berry Gordy to give Norman Whitfield a shot with the group after this Smokey Robinson penned tune fell short of the top ten. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah, I never understood how this song wasn't considered 'good enough'. Its shown its staying power over the years. I wonder what direction the Tempts would've gone in had Smokey stayed their primary writer; and better yet, what group would Norman Whitfield have given those hits like 'Ain't To Proud To Beg', 'Poppa Was A Rolling Stone', etc. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever! | |
