Best punchline rapper:Lloyd banks
Best multi-syllable rapper:Big Pun
Best free styler:Juice
Most Creative:Nas
Best Balladeer:LL Cool J
Best Group:Wu tang Clan
Best Flow:Ludacris

BEST ALL AROUND is:

Seriously, why is his name rarely mentioned in these discussions? disbelief OutKast is the most successful rap group ever and Dre's verses have always been infinitely better than Big Boi's. I know lil old ladies that know Dre's verses and hooks on "Elevators", "So Fresh, So Clean", "Rosa Parks", Sleppy Brown's "I Can't Wait" ( dancing jig ) , "B.O.B", etc.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

This is a fact:

Not that I disagree about your opinion on Tupac's talent...but,
sales and talent aren't related.
Just cause he was the best selling rapper doesn't automatically make him the best rapper.
I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

rolleyes
Anyways, it is true that talent and sales aren't DIRECTLY related, but people tend to buy artist's albums of who they like, and with albums (cds, etc) being kinda expensive, people normally buy who they like. So, with that being said, many, many people have bought (and are buying) tupac's albums. So in that sense, sales is a direct result of people liking who they percieve as talented.

Don't you know I have a 8-CD-set of Rap music history? starting in 1978 and so on. I stopped downloading the series after the year 1985. I hate gangsta rap.

Me too! Let's be org buddies. biggrin

Bizzy is the only person who got on tracks with Big, Pac and Eazy and just murdered the tracks more than anyone else, lol.

You know, the late Johnny J was a close friend of mine. You should check out the tribute piece I did to him, it contains excerpts of my interview with him, which is how I got to know him. Check it out here - PART 1 and here - PART 2.

Anyway, I bring that up because Johnny of course played me unheard, unreleased cuts by brother 'Pac, but after I mentioned I was a Bizzy fan (after seeing the platinum plaque for Heaven'z Movie on Johnny's wall), he played me a couple of unheard Bizzy cuts as well. Shit was mad dope.

I'm trying to find out what's going on with Johnny's estate, through his wife Capucine Jackson. She would have to sign off on anything released from this point that Johnny did. I don't know for sure if the unreleased Johnny/Bizzy material is a whole albums worth, but there might well be.
