I heard MJ's "Someone Put Your Hand Out", ironically the messages were "I miss you and I love you" allegedly, then again it's still gibberish, lol Reminds me of the same bit of nonsense when Michael Jackson & Mick Jagger sang "State of Shock". People were raving that if you spun the end of the song backwards, MJ kept saying "My name is Michael", and Mick Jagger said "Hey ni**er!" ("You got me in" forward). Now why would that be fake, yet Janet supposedly sing about angels be real? IT'S NONSENSE! Weak-minded people think that artists sit around and try to come up with something phonetically viable forward and backwards. Believe me when I say this: There was no one deeper into the backward masking than yours truly back in the 80's. I was spinning EVERYTHING backwards, and "hearing stuff". ONCE I GREW UP, I realized it's all a bunch of hooey. As far as people still promoting this bullshit, it's like Led Zepplin said backwards, "There's no escaping it..." Right. And it really humors me when they think the "Stairway to Heaven" song backwards was about Satan, I honestly don't hear it. It just sounds like Robert Plant got drunk when you hear it backwards. Plain gibberish.

And here's the thing, as I stated over and over much to that guy's blindside apparently....if you just play something backwards, you hear gibberish. Yet when someone TELLS you "this is what they say", or you read what someone types up, THEN you suddenly hear it. "ooooh yeah, I hear it now!" No you don't. It's called THE POWER OF SUGGESTION. People love conspiracy and those "a ha" moments. Perhaps it gives them some sort of fun in life. As a teenager, I was all over this stuff. It was a teen when it all started becoming popular in the media. News outlets and even TBN were doing shows on it. One of the popular theories back then was that your brain would hear the song forward (now it gets good, pay attention), then your subconscious would REVERSE the message, and then you'd be influenced and brain-washed by the backward message. Now if this were true, why haven't we been influenced by more things? Why isn't our brain transcribing everything we hear forward, in a backwards way (man, there's some truth in THAT isn't there....in a whole different way). If our brains are so advanced as a people, why aren't WE more advanced as a people? The very theory of it all falls apart at the seams. People were freaking out that the devil would influence everyone by rock music forwards and backward. It was always the cheap way out in trying to tell the masses to not listen to rock music, that it was evil or whatever. What is evil is LYING to people, creating half-truths (which are WHOLE lies), and using fear as a tactic to control things you can't can't control. The Christian rock band Petra took all this with a grain of salt, and purposely put a backwards message at the beginning of one of their songs called "Judas' Kiss" that says "What are you looking for the devil for, when you ought to be looking for the Lord." But if someone WANTS to hear something, they will, whether it's there or not.

Don't over- analyze anything.... The message you are about to hear are not meant for transmission. Should ONLY be accessed in the privacy of your mind. Words are so intense so if you dare to listen.Take off your clothes and meet me between the lines.

I've never been into debating or argueing about stuff, especially dealing with backmasking. But I KNOW that it is done at times intentionally. Because I myself have done it. It can also happen accidently as well. Again, this too has happened to me. I had written and recorded a lyric that included a phrase "She has no soul because she buried her heart in a hole." As time passed, somehow I ended up reversing the track and I heard that phrase backwards. I was now singing "Sad Izabella...you should know the sound of my voice" I played this to many people without telling them what I heard. EVERYONE heard the "Sad Izabella" part for that was clear as day. Some heard the "You should know the sound of my voice" clearly and then some only heard some of the words. I purposely didn't tell them what I heard because I didn't want them to be swayed. I wanted to see if they heard what I heard on their OWN. Now I've been into everything backwards since I was very little. Since I was 8, I was hip to Stariway To Heaven being played in reverse on a rock radio station on Haloween night to hearing all of the backmasking done by The Beatles spread over various albums dealing with the "Paul is Dead" themes. Which in my opinion, is the most elaborate designed theme I had ever seen by a music artist/band which was used by The Beatles visually as well as sonically. Anyway, I know for a fact that Prince placed a well done backmask on the Time's second album on the track "onedayi'mgonnabesomebody". It was a dig at Andre Cymone for his title "Livin In The New Wave" where foward you heard Morris, Jesse and Prince say at the end of the song "We don't like new wave" and then there is a burst of laughter. Played in reverse, you can hear Prince the clearest, saying "here we come for you". I had always known about this mask since 82 because as soon as I heard it, I could tell just from the "sound" that it was something there. So I reversed it and could hear it all on my own "Here we come for you". so when I ended up recording with Andre and Morris years later in 95, that was one of the first things I asked them about. Without telling them what I heard, I asked them both about the song..Both Andre and Morris were hip to it, Morris was apart of the recording with the laughter and saying the phrase "we don't like new wave". It was definately intentionally recorded so it could say when it's reversed "here we come for you." Morris and Andre both told me personally that P worked for long periods of time on the art of backmasking. [Edited 10/8/09 12:41pm] SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. It ain't intentional IMHO.
This is just jive, I see so many religious zealots, excuse me, religious folks talking about "rock and roll is devil's music". Get out of here. [Edited 10/8/09 13:46pm]
