Stevie Wonder - Feeding Off The Love of TheLand

...

One of my Wonder favorites!!!

This Stevie tune was originally written in the early-mid seventies. It was included at the end of the film, "Jungle Fever", but was left off of the soundtrack (though it was included as a B-side of the "Got to Have You" 12'-inch single...

It was left off the soundtrack because it had already been released on Nobody's Child - Romanian Angel Appeal in 1990.

It's THAT old?

You guys know that I'm no big fan of his 80s and 90s work, but could someone please tell me which tracks from then date back to the classic period?

They become more valueable then to me.

Oh all you Stevie Wonder fans can you please bugger off and make all these threads in a Stevie forum....it's getting ridiculous the number of Stevie threads! Don't you know this is the "music:non prince" forum? How could you be so immature as to post more than one topic at a time about him?

lol lol lol Jokes! razz

Now this song is my sometime favourite Stevie song! Ie, it's hard to have one favourite all the time he has so many great songs, but this one comes up in many instances as my pick of the bunch. So beautiful, the lyrics, the melody, the chord changes. Music at it's best!

I wonder why he left this off all his 70's albums? Def would've been a great fit on FFF I feel!
Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

He sensed that his future albums would become bad and saved some of the better material for the dry period.

I agree.

Like what was hinted, this was part of the sessions for Fullfillingness' First Finale, it would've definitely been a great fit for an already masterful album.

I find it has some flaws. The one song where he sings: Simon says...

I never liked that.

What does this mean, Simon says? Even Madonna did a track with this name. And I know two other songs with the same title as well.

Worth mentioning that the Nobody's Child version is the '74 original. The string arrangement on the version that was the B side to "Gotta Have You" was added by Bill Lee whenever "Jungle Fever" was recorded.

So the b-side version is different? Just when I thought I had everything...

So, David or whoever, could you please post a list of songs from the golden era (let's say 1970s up until 1982) that were released much later?

Love me some "Bird of Beauty", that Latin soul approach never fails. He repeated this with "Ngiculela - Es Una Historia - I Am Singing". cool

yeah, generally the second disc of MITKOL has songs that are too long. I love Another Star, but 8 minutes?

The same with Black Man.

But don't think I'd dislike his latin flavoured stuff. I'm in love with Love City and The Real Thing.
