This song makes me realize how much I miss the 80's.
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

three points:

1) who knew Tobe Hooper directed Dancing With Myself and ushered in the film director making video craze that reached it's creative peak with MJ and John Landis collaborating?

2) Never realized how similiar Idol's music was to Duran Durans till I revisited his stuff on youtube tonight.

3) Who know Idol was originally to play the new terminator in T2 till his motorcycle accident?

Yeah, I've dug Idol since he was in Gen X. He's always been cool in my book. "White Wedding' is fucking bangin'. I used to play that to death when it was first released. But my favorite album by Idol hands down is Rebel Yell. That's his "Thriller" album! biggrin To me, everything on that album is good. The first time I saw Idol in concert was on the Rebel Yell tour at The Forum. Great show (with Dez opening). The crowd was so energized the entire show. It is still one of my all time favorite concerts that I have ever attended and I have been to many since I was a kid. But this album is so well produced and well written. Besides the title track "Rebel Yell", my faves from this album are "Eyes Without A Face" the straight up KILLIN' "Flesh For Fantasy" taken from the Andy Warhol film "Flesh For Frankenstein". But one unsung cut from this album which I think also should have been a single is "Daytime Drama". I adore that song. Billy and Stevie Stevens did a great job on this album. Definately a hit album and one of the best of the 80's certainly.

"Eyes Without a Face" and "Flesh for Fantasy" are immortal, and I'm not speaking as a fan.
