I love early Janet too! So sweet and innocent 
I'm the total opposite. At first few listens I couldn't get into her debut and sophmore album but with more listens I've grown to really love them. It's her last two albums I can't get into  Also the Dream Street LP is very Prince-esque, probably why I love it so much. I think many people don't like her early recordings because it wasn't Janet. and of course her role as Penny on Good Times let me know from the gate Janet was FIERCE deep down LOL she was too good at what she did for that age.. IMHO did ya'll see her, Rebbie & Toya do The Pointer Sisters?
