Fall 08 saw r&b get a shot of redeemable music from Saadiq and Benet. Saadiq got has Motown/Stax vibe on, Benet just made some good ol' plain good music,which r&b hadn't had in a long while. Not that Saadiq's wasn't good...his was more of a concept album. John Legend the more current of the two....who got more radio and video play followed....weakly I might add! Whereas "greenlight" was a venture into a dance tune for him...folks were more excited that 3000 was on it.

Saadiq hit the road....solo and opening for Legend,which he ended up killin' 'em....then continued to tour solo. Benet hit the road with successful results as well. Now here we are a year later. Saadiq has taken "The Way..." further than any of his previous releases. I for one didn't think it would do this much for him. "The Way.." is not his best output( i would've preferred a dvd of previous tours)...but as a fan I am happy that he's getting a lot of exposure! I hope he doesn't burn out...and delays output of his new music. Or get stuck in trying to duplicate "The Way..."2. Benet has stated he is re-charged and will continue to bring us good music. Legend hopefully learned a lesson and is somewhere working on his craft.

I'm so happy those three are around.
