Rancid. I agree w/ the mustache on Mona Lisa comment. Some ballads have new life w/ a club mix (like Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart", which the remix shot it into the stratosphere of popularity; Everything But The Girl's "Missing" is another example), but this one....IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FUCKING REMIX IT. | |

I can't see whatever was embedded. Is this the Timmy Regisford remix?
There are lots of old and new r&b songs that get tweaked for the club. Whether they are legitimate releases is a different question. When they work I feel strange because that was not how the original artist envisioned the song, and they may not even know these versions exist. When they are bad I get upset because someone had to go and mess with a good song. I can think of remixes/reedits of Maxwell (Til the Cops Come Knocking), Jill Scott, Isley Brothers (Fight the Power), REM (Losing My Religion), Bill Withers (Harlem), Gladys Knight (I've Got To Use My Imagination), Labelle (Superlover), Kanye West (Addictive) and many others. | |
