Tito pays tribute to King of Pop

(UKPA) – 1 hour ago

Michael Jackson's brother Tito has paid tribute to him, on the opening night of his first UK solo tour.

Tito sang a medley of Jackson Five hits in memory of his younger brother, helped by their cousin Nicole Jackson.

The 55-year-old singer also told the audience at the Manchester Evening News Arena that he has had "the blues" since Michael's death in June this year.

Things like this only remind me how much I love him and bring me back to tears.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Sorry, double post.

But, that whole 'peace loving', 'heal the world'-image was totally naive and misplaced of course.

He didnt even know how to live a satisfying life for himself.

Shallow Disney-crap lyrics like Heal the World and Earth song, show how far removed MJ from reality was: empty superficial shit echoed by millions of empty, superficial 'fans'.

If you want disney-solutions for worldproblems move to MJ, a mentally 5 yo acting as naive as can be, a guy so naive and stupid it doesnt make sense at all.

MJ might have had more commercial succes then Elvis or the Beatles, but its kiddie-pop, superficial, inoffensive, shallow.

Elvis might have spoiled his talent by acting in all those mediocre movies, but you should thank him for bringing rhythem and blues and rock and roll in the forefront in his first years.

While MJ has always played it safe, the Beatles have showed guts by taking pop-music to a new level, they certainly werent expressing stupid disnyland-lyrics like MJ did, and their music is and was far more intelligent and authentic then anything MJ ever did.

You can blame MJ for the shallow, bland superficiality of todays charts: Britney, Black Eyed Peas etc. Sound over substance, superficiality over depth.

BlackFace Jacksons on Australian Variety Hour confused
October 2009

Asked to appear on Australian variety hour 'Hey Hey It's Saturday' as a guest judge, Harry Connick Jr. sputters in disbelief when a Jackson Five impersonation group entirely in blackface appears on stage.

He first gives the group a "0" scorecard for the performance, while the audience boos; later, at about 4:40 into the clip, Connick launches into an impassioned race-relations lecture explaining why blackface is a bad thing. "If I knew that was going to be a part of the show, I definitely wouldn't have done it," Connick chides on live TV. The host appears genuinely surprised.

OWINGSVILLE, Ky. (AP) A mural of pop singer Michael Jackson painted by students at an eastern Kentucky middle school has been halted after complaints from a local pastor.

The mural was the latest of about a dozen that have been painted in the hallways at Bath County Middle School. Visual arts teacher Lorraine Leadingham says a visit by an artist to her class prompted the start of a mural of the pop music icon, who died June 25.

WTVQ-TV in Lexington reports that Owingsville First Church of God Pastor Lowell Rice heard about the mural at his church. Rice approached the school officials to complain about the mural, questioning whether Jackson is an appropriate role model.

Leadingham says midway through the painting, her principal told her to stop. She says she doesn’t understand why the painting was nixed.

Even in death, even in Bath County, Michael Jackson is still a controversial figure. Or rather, a controversial painting.

Bath County Middle School teacher Lorraine Leadingham teaches visual arts. Over the last four years, her students have painted a dozen murals on hallway walls. She told ABC 36 News an artist's visit in August led to a classroom discussion about a painting of Michael Jackson, which the students wanted to add to the hallways.

The work began about five weeks ago. Shortly after that, local Pastor Lowell Rice approached Bath School Board Chairman B.A. Franklin and voiced his displeasure about the painting. He also wrote the school principal as well as superintendent Nancy Hutchinson.

Rice said while he heard about the painting from students who went to the Owinsgville First Church of God.

"If they want their children to become like Michael Jackson, if he's an appropriate role model, if we want his behaviors to be ones our young people mirror, then put his picture up there," Rice said.

Leadingham said midway through the painting, her principal told her to stop. Thursday, she told school officials ABC 36 News was coming to Bath Middle for a "Cool in Schools" feature on the murals. The next day, Michael Jackson, whose first mega-selling album was entitled "Off The Wall," was off the wall at Bath Middle.

Leadingham said she doesn't agree with or understand the decision.

"At our last school dance, the majority of the music requested by the kids was Michael Jackson's music, we have a cheerleading squad that's doing their routines to Michael Jackson's music, and our high school band plays his music at the ball game," she said.

Neither Superintendent Hutchinson nor Bath Middle's principal returned calls from ABC 36 News.

oh please.....Elvis had a nice voice, but he hardly wrote any of his stuff and he could barely play that guitar that he was always holding, it was nothing but a prop. Elvis greatest asset was that he was born white, and therefore he could rip-off black artists and get played to the masses without bating an eyelid. He was overraated, even more overrated than Madonna, and that's saying something.

Michael Jackson Immortalized with Dedication of Star

The world was recently saddened by the sudden loss of pop icon Michael Jackson. In memoriam of this legendary and one-of-a-kind performer, Ztarlet.com has dedicated an actual star in his memory – as a symbol of the bright light that Jackson brought to the music industry and his millions of loyal fans across the globe.

New York, NY, July 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- A star is a symbol of eternity and as such, Ztarlet.com Star Registry has just announced that a beautiful star has been dedicated in memory of Michael Joseph Jackson, pop singer who is known the world over for his legendary 80s album "Thriller," which remains as the best-selling album of all time with over 100 million copies sold worldwide. Jackson first rose to fame during childhood as a member of the Jackson Five (1968). Recent plans for a 2009 "comeback" tour that was to be launched in Europe were brought to a sudden halt with his passing on June 25, 2009. Through this memorial dedication, it is thought that Michael Jackson's memory will live on through the ages.

Naming a star after an individual is the perfect way to show honor and appreciation for the person and their achievements. Celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods, Oprah Winfrey, Cindy Crawford, and Britney Spears already have their names up in the sky through star registry services. There is no doubt that many more individuals have hopes of following in their footsteps by having a star named after them in their favorite constellation.

It is said that "nothing is forever" – but naming a star after a loved one – spouse, child, parent, grandparent, or even a favorite celebrity lets them know how much they mean to you. According to CEO of Ztarlet.com, Gabriel Pap, registering a star in a loved one's name is the ultimate gift that literally lasts a lifetime. As Pap puts it, "Our service meets the demand for unique gifts that cross all generations and barriers, is perfect for any occasion, and provides lasting value. Honoring Jackson in this fashion ensures that his legacy is remembered for many years to come."

Indeed, with the gift of a registered star, the recipient will truly live on long after they are parted from this earth. "To name a star is a unique expression that symbolizes eternity. It is a gift that will last forever. It is the belief of Ztarlet.com that it is only fitting that one of the century's biggest stars, Michael Jackson, should be immortalized in this manner – a timeless tribute to Jackson's astronomical achievements through his music and his charitable works," says Anthony Khamsei, marketing executive for Ztarlet.com. Through this memorial dedication, it is a certainty that Michael Jackson's memory will live on through the ages.
