To qoute a "Bes Buy" cashier...."Mariah is getting stomped by Streisand"

Dont know how either will place but i was in Best Buy getting the new MYA, and had to pick up Barbara for my mom, well she is sold out, regular version and deluxe and the cashier/employee who checked for me said it was moving like crack in the 80's. Damn impressive from a thousand year old woman that keeps retiring every other year and plays million dollar ticket shows.

The last couple Babs cd's have been horrid but this one is produced by Diane Kroll and Diane forced Babs to actually work with a jazz ensemble. Curious to hear the results.

I bought the mp3 deluxe version from Amazon, haven't listened all the way through yet, but like what I've heard so far. The first disc is with an orchestra, while the second is with a quartet.

As for Screechariah Carey, the only way I'd ever watch/listen to her sing is if I was deaf and blind. lol

People who buy Babs are old and buy physical copies - people who buy Mariah will buy both physical and digital.
I reckon Mariah will be number 1.

Well, I'm old and bought the digital version of Barbra's deluxe CD. We buy her instead of Mariah because we appreciate REAL talent and not studio trickery. Put them side-by-side, singing live with NO lip-syncing or backing tracks, and Screechariah would be shamed off the stage.

btw...on Amazon, Babs is #s 2 & 4 and Screechy is #10 and falling. lol

I, for one, am NOT obsessed with her no-talent ass, just shocked that anyone still thinks she can 'sing'. nutso But, you youngsters don't mind auto-tune, so that explains a lot.

Babs last CD, "Guilty Pleasures", barely achieved gold status in North America (600K copies). Now, suddenly, she's all that? wink

A cashier at Best Buy.... better note that. lol I love Babs. She's incomparable and just sang on Oprah. I hope they both do well but I'm not checking it as a race.

Barbra's on Oprah today? I'll have to record it. Maybe Mariah should watch so she can hear what real talent sounds like. Her last few live efforts have sucked horribly.

edit: just checked my guide, but it shows Chris Rock as being the guest??

Yeah I didn't know she released an album last year or that she was still even releasing material. I know she did a tour where she told a Bush supporting heckler to "shut the fuck up". lol

Just because her recent CDs haven't sold well doesn't mean she can't still sing and she still has beautiful control of her voice.

No one said anything about her voice. lol Barbra personally has never been my cup of tea tho. Of the classic '60s divas, she's the least I follow...

In a nutshell,who cares.
Barbara fans are gonna buy Barbara and
Mariah fans are gonna buy Mariah.
Who cares what a cashier says at Best Buy
for one day?
