So whats everyones view on this whole new "cheap" downloads from Amazon??

Is it just another form of Dumping?? We all remember the Sony/Emi war a few years back with 2 singles selling for .49Cents. Now Amazon has introduced full album downloads for 6.99 and under for limited time on some new releases? Currently Mariah is on sale for 5.99, but last tons of artists did this during the thanksgiving rush? So isnt this just another attempt at chart positions? If labels can somehow afford a 5.99 price for week one on an album, (which most of time is the biggest week) then how come we still see 13.99 cds? This download price is going to be applied on the new Rihanna and Alicia Keys upon release also.

But aren't chart positions mainly a reflection of sales? And stuff's gotta sale, so labels gotta do what they gotta do in this digital age, right?
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Yeah agreed but why should a cd be allowed to count the same for selling at a 5.99 price, half of what almost what all cds cost? Thats more or less what im driving at, i mean what if Beyonce puts out her new cd and her label sets the price at a $1 for 2 weeks and the thing sells 10 million copies? should that be legit?

Yes. Businness have to be competitive. Sell more CD's, get more publicity. Get more publicity, get more sales as you gradually start raising the price.
