Monica - Before You Walk Out Of My Life (Pete Rock Remix)

This shit slams SO hard. Pete Rock was the motherfuckin' man back in this era. The way he dropped the drums on this shit is just too sick!!

This was the best track in that CD and the best thing that she has EVER done, in my opinion. It makes me wonder, why she really has not blasted off, like she should have.

I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

I love Pete, but I prefer the original. The same goes for "Shut 'em Down." shrug

mushy That whole album was outstanding from beginning to end. Seriously, one of my top 10 favorite debut albums from any artist, new or old. Monica was pretty big back in the 90s. Everyone was always pitting her against Brandy (who couldn't sing better than Monica IMHO). Then, she helplessly watched as her boyfriend (ex?) shot himself to death in his car. sad He locked himself in the car with a loaded gun, called her to come to the car's location, and as she struggled to open the door; she watched him pull the trigger. Anyone who can still hold their head up and keep going after seeing something like that is a fighter; don't care what anyone says. Her new album is dropping this November and I'm definitely going to continue to support her. nod

Monica has a voice on her but she is under-rated! I don't like her new single "Still Standing", it does nothing for me.

So do I. The remix is not a big jump from the original but it's cool. Don't get me started on Monica, my sister used to play her cassette's on the radio ALL OF THE TIME. Especially "One Of Them Days" when it was that time of the month. lol
