There´s nothing on it that really memorable except for By Your Side, Lovers Rock and King of Sorrow. Mathewman should have played more sax AND guitar....same goes for the Maxwell material without Mathewman....most of it sounds like there´s something missing.They both should have stayed true to their sound and style, or else they´ll be chasing their own sound like Prince is doing these days (without success). It simply doesn´t sound like a strong Sade album. Not that I entirely dislike it because it could be a charming b-sides collection but as an album, it really isn´t strong enough especially after such a long hiatus. Stronger Than Pride and Love De Luxe are VERY good albums, in my opinion. I agree 100%... and 'Love Deluxe' is their greatest work, by far. . [Edited 9/23/09 6:28am] "He's a musician's musician..." |
