if she wants to help the poor child, pay for her whole treatment. that's what Michael Jackson would have done....
I don't know what it is about Beyonce that smacks of insincerity. She's a nice lady I'm sure but just a bit too hyperaware of her image.

There's a lot of irony and humor in this video for me.
All that fake hair and Bouncy couldn't hook lil' St. Jude up with a wig for her big world-wide debut??? Also, the last thing terminally ill folk want is other folk singin to them about HALO's. You couldn't bring the sick child out during a peppier tune??? Lawd.

(too much talk of husband's dick size) ...Single Ladies? (might hit child in face with big ass shaking dance moves) ...Crazy In Love? Check On It? Upgrade U? Get Me Bodied? her repertoire is looking a little slim for cancer appropriate songs. and that gawd awful Ave Maria mess never should insult my ears again!

Not even Mike has ever done such a thing and he´s had kids onstage all the time, but healthy looking ones. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

remember the kid that sued MJ for sexual misconduct? the one with cancer?? the one whose treatment he paid for....quietly?
because that is how it all got started....

If I'm getting a moment with Beyonce and getting my ill ass dragged on stage (even if it's my Make A Wish dream) I rather get boobie slapped than have her in my face tellin me bout my Halo. I'd be like bitch hold up, I got some life in me still!!!! I came here to dance...damn. STOP THE MUSIC!!

I agree. They're trying their best to make her the next Michael Jackson.....first the Taylor Swift episode and now this. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS, but much as it pains me to say it, I think she will probably succeed. To this generation, she is the best singer ever, the best dancer ever, the most original, the most beautiful, and will soon be the best actress many of them have ever seen. The general public as a whole can be so gullable when it come to such things. Most of them will never know of the lying, cheating, stealing, sabotaging of her competition's career, and overall nastiness that came with her becoming America's Sweetheart and the ultimate Icon she will more than likely be. Yeah, as much as I don't believe she deserves to be, it wouldn't surprise me at all if she IS the next Michael Jackson. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

What if Halo is the girls favourite song? What's Bey supposed to say? "No baby I can't sing your favourite song because the haters might diss me".
BTW, the girl is in remission. Oh, and she shouldn't have to wear a wig just because a girls' bald head doesn't fit society's standards of pretty.

I don't care about her reasons for singing to the child, I just care that she did such a beautiful thing for her. Its the same deal with Celebrities and charities. who cares why they give? we should pressure celebs into doing these things for the sake of changing the world for the better. 2012: The Queen Returns

It was nice of Beyonce to have a young fan on stage. I'm sure it meant the world to the little girl, and I hope that Beyonce's intentions were noble and self-less; because if they weren't, than that's pretty low and I will lose even more respect for her than I initially had (which really wasn't all that much to be totally honest).
To exploit a child, especially one who has a life-altering illness, is disgusting and inhumane to me and I have no respect for anyone who uses sick children to make themselves look good. She can write an anonymous check to a children's organization if she truly cares and I'm hoping she's already done so. Again, I'm saying this on the grounds of if Beyonce was doing this just to make herself look like a saint and to further stroke her ego for PR reasons, but I'm hoping that isn't the case. In the end, that young fan has a happy memory for the rest of her life and I can't be mad if I look at it from that standpoint. Just my . Prince Rogers Nelson

Beyonce can make a heartfelt effort and still consciously boost her brand from the PR. One does not negate the other. There is nothing wrong with benefiting from good actions if you mean them IMO.

Well you questioned the appropriateness of me including the girl in my joking. But re: Bey's hair etc...Those can all be funny things to some of us. There is room to like (even love) an artist and their work and have a sense of humor about things. I happen to be a Beyonce fan. Joking on someone does not equal "hating" on. I'm not so cynical or insensitive that I watch something like that and just spend my whole time suspecting Beyonce or over analyzing her appearance. It's so bitchy. I hate Lady Gaga but I'd never dream of making fun of her if she were actually doing something good with her talent like making a sick child happy.

Exactly...if you mean them. Since I don't live in Beyonce's head, I can't say she does or doesn't, but still using anybody (sick or healthy) for one's personal gain is something that I find disgusting no matter whether the person is famous or not. I don't think Beyonce is this type of person, but she's done some questionable things in the past so I can't say whole-heartedly that she isn't either. What she did to her 'friends' in the original Destiny's Child line-up is still something I find to be low. She should have stood up to her father and been there for those girls but she took only his side in the end and they were kicked out of the group. Not cool. All just my and personal opinion.
