What song Brings Back memories?

I just heard Madonna's 'Get in2 The Groove' today and it totally brought me back to when I was 12 years old vacationing in Clearwater Florida.
I remember the heat, the swimming pool, the beach, the tennis courts--all of it. I even remember my cousin speaking about how 'cool' and 'daring' Madonna was lol

It was just the most perfect memories conjured up. I lurved it. mushy

Also, Prince's 'Pop Life' reminds me of the same vacation. It's funny--I can smell the pizza we had for dinner, the taste of that awful Champagne my Aunt was drinking, and the smell of the ocean breeze. lol

"Get Into The Groove" takes me right back to the spring/summer of '85.That was such a fun, exciting time.Pop music was at a high point.

To answer the question....the song "Summer" by WAR brings back alot of good memories.I hear that song and I'm back in the summer of '76,having a BBQ with my family in the backyard. We would have BBQs all the time, with friends over and the radio blaring.Isn't it amaing how songs can bring back so many memories?

The song that brings back memories for me, is Steely Dan's, "Do It Again". I remember playing outside as a kid, when this song came out. Whenever it came on, I would stop whatever it was, I was doing and listen. To me, it always had this strange mystical vibe to it, that I dig to this day....

Madonna's "Holiday" reminds me of getting my hair cut in high school, at a beauty college right down the road. It was a great school, and I never had a bad haircut there. One guy, who looked and acted just like Jm J. Bullock, came out with one tall, and sprayed bang curl on his head. He was singing to "Holiday", and I was thinking, "I've heard this song somewhere, and I love it." The guy was a total queer, but he loved the song.

Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire also evokes memories of my years in Germany lol

There was a Levi's Jeans commercial that they were playing on Euro-MTV, and that was actually how I was introduced to the song.

So whenever I hear Johnny Cash, I think of beer, cold weather, and bratwurst lol

"Spinning Wheel".. by Blood, Sweat & Tears.

My father worked two jobs then and my mother or my older brother would drive out and take our father a hot home cooked meal. It never failed that the DJ would play "Spinning Wheel". It use to blow or minds that this song with psychedelic/jazz/nursery rhyme wrapped in one, gelled! Love that song. cool

Missy Elliott's This Is Not A Test! album
reminds me of when I lived in Marietta, Georgia

so does Kelis' Tasty album

I always flash back to that era
when I play those albums
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

ooops this is about a SONG

well "It's Real" on the Missy album I just mentioned
reminds me of driving in the downtown ATL traffic one evening
we were at a standstill for like 10-15 minutes
I remember crying & puffing cigarettes I was so aggitated LOL

and Kelis' "Milkshake" blended with Missy's "Pass That Dutch"
remind me of goin out at Club Traxx the DJ would mix em together
ERRRTIME I went...

her "Rolling Through The Hood" reminds me
of the day before the album got released
I was in an FYE in the Cumberland Mall (I believe
that was the name of it) and I like froze my steps
and immediately went to the counter to ask if it
was the new Kelis & could he sell me one right then
he didn't neutral

and I remember going to like 3-4 different stores
the next day trying to find a copy of the album
almost everywhere was sold out
I couldn't wait to get my hands on it
so I could hear the "yesterdaaaay
I rolled through the HOOOOOD..." again lol
that was soooo dope to me
I finally found one.. cool

wink

Harlepolis

Milira's Go Outside in the Rain.

The only reason why this song bring so many memories is because, this is the 1st time I tasted my own blood boxed

Me & my big sis had a real nasty fight that afternoon(all my fault because I loved to tease her) I put a gum in her head, and she put a knuckle in my mouth boxed lol

And don't get it twisted hammer she ate the same knuckle sandwishes I ate evillol

It didn't help any though, because my mother went Ike Turner City on our asses disbelief I will never forget that day ever mushy

I just remember that song "Anniversary" by Tony Toni Tone and after the long version played on the radio, I hummed it even as I went home, I'd go to the far back of the bus and just sing it and hoped the kids didn't see me. lol

Flash dance - Deep dish - the drive on the way to a beach in North Holland 2005

Spirit - The Waterboys - South Africa 1986 at a beach house playing pool

The first song I remember hearing

I also remember exactly where I was when I heard and saw MJ's Black or White video on tv. I was mesmerised. Even the heavy guitar intro didn't mean a thing. It was just so perfect in every way. RIP Michael...
