Terence Trent D'Arby and INXS...have you seen this?!

Wow! Sometime after Michael Hutchence's death Terence -aka Sananda Maitreya- and INXS performed live together:

What You Need: http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

New Sensation: http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

Anyone know how I can find a dvd of this entire performance?
That's the best I've ever heard INXS sound.

Awesome stuff but this is no wonder since Terence is one of the best singers ever!

TTD/Sananda/Whatever ought to look into taking lead vocals for bands with dead singers more often. because this is nice. the stuff he's putting out on his own now is CRAP.

Wildcard is a masterpiece for me the best record of 2000 so far. Even Prince
hasn´t released an album so good as wildcard this century!!!

Angels and Vampires has also some awesome stuff!!!

TTD is one of the most underrated singers and performers on the planet. He really is a modern day Sam Cooke and at this point will never get the credit or airplay he deserves. But we can enjoy performances like the ones above with inxs right?
Any idea where I can find a copy of this?

I would love a copy also, this stuff is fantastic. He blows everyone out of the water with these performances. His vocal interpretations are incredible! I've been listening to Symphony or Damn alot lately so this is timely for me.

And why should he be Prince? He's a totally different person. It's like saying NeYo is another MJ. "Uh.....ok?"

TTD was rumored to be a new lead singer for INXS after Michael's death, but it never really materialized beyond a live performance or two. I think it would have been a good move for a while for both parties.

Wildcard was made around 1996, its release was postponed for ages and TTD / SM didn't return to recording work really until Angers & Vampires (which I too thought was mostly unlisteneable due to the terrible mixing / production and clumsy song structures). You'll find many individuals who won't agree with you about Wildcard being a masterpiece, so don't be surprised by people not regarding it as highly as you do. I'd personally consider it being capable of raising its head a little bit above the surface of the sea of mediocrity on the whole, although I still do find it musically more interesting than his best-selling debut. It has its interesting moments definitely.

But considering that he hasn't recorded any music in over ten years that would sound a bit more thoroughly put together than most freely available demo-grade music on Myspace by unsigned bands, his career would seem to be pretty much over judged on such merits.

Exactly. The intelligence quotient has blown out of here faster than Prince leaving an awards show in the mid 80's.

Hi XNY,

Here you can see all 4 songs they performed together @ that opening of the Olympic Stadium in Sydney:

There is no DVD of it.

@ Ernest:
This was always ment as a one-time event and not that Sananda would become their new leadsinger.

Once again I agree with you ernestsewell. Not sure who decided against it - TTD or INXS - but Terence never seemed like he wanted a rock star career.
