David Bowie was singing already on "Aladdin Sane" stuff like "Suck baby suck, give me your head", so I'm always wondering what the hell people are talking about when they're trying to make it like Prince was the first to do it on "Dirty Mind". Of course prior to that you had all kinds of gay / transvestite -themed lyrics on many of the records by the artists who would become glam rockers.
More marginal genres have always had really questionable content too, e.g.:from shit-eating to sex with minors. That's for shock value for the most part, but some genres have also attracted individuals with paraphilic traits to, uhm, express themselves. | |
