A little while ago, they released a Special Edition two 45's by Eddie and Ernie; "Bullet's Don't Have Eyes" (written and sung by my father) b/w "In These Very Tender Moments" (written by my father and Ernie). The second single also had "Bullets Don't Have Eyes" on the A side b/w
"You Make My Life A Sunny Day" (written by my father, Ernie and Pete James). But yeah, I know Mr. Sugarman and David Griffiths. Neal Sugarman has emailed me while he was on the road from touring with Sharon Jones. If he's going to be one of the guests, tell Mr. Sugarman I said hello. I really, really love that song! The Mighty Imperials are basically a stripped down, alternate version of the Dap-Kings. More like the Meters variation. They first recorded on Gabe Roth's Desco label. When Desco folded, and Gabe and Neal Sugarman launched Daptone, they took the Mighty Imperials with them and re-released the Desco 45s and album on Daptone.
Of course you're gonna hear Thunder Chicken tonight. Show starts in less than 25 minutes ... tune in from 11 pm until 1 am Eastern at www.wrir.org

Since he's the label's owner, it doesn't take a psychic to figure out that Neal would be one of our guests.

Since he's the label's owner, it doesn't take a psychic to figure out that Neal would be one of our guests. Uh nah,..That's NOT why I figured Mr. Sugarman would be on the show. WHY I figured he would be on the show were for the reasons I mentioned in my earlier post...because I knew he would be out on the road with Sharon Jones because he would email me from there and since Sharon and the Dap Kings were the guest that you FIRST mentioned, that's WHY I assumed Mr. Sugarman would be along as well. It was only AFTER my post did you even mention Neal Sugarman's name at all. Besides, if I was going on the strength of the owner of the label, I would have also mentioned Mr. Roth, which I didn't. So nah player, me mentioning Mr. Sugarman had NADA to do with because he's co-owner of the label. Oh yeah, let me add the smile... [Edited 11/15/09 16:00pm] So you thought Neal would be along as well because he emailed you from the road? This is all a bit complicated. I'm confused. But anyways ... Both Gabe Roth and Neal are owners of Daptone, and both are members of the Dap-Kings and both write most of the music, so Neal was an obvious choice for us. [Edited 11/15/09 16:07pm]

[Edited 11/15/09 16:07pm] NOTHING confusing about it, man. He would email me when he would be on the road with Sharon. So because of THAT, I assumed he would show up with Sharon there as well. Again, I never mentioned Mr. Roth showing up because I was never aware that he would be on the road with Sharon. Nothing complicated about that at all.
