I was never too crazy over Sweet Dreams. My fave track on it is Love is a Stranger. I didn't really start appreciating their stuff until the album with Would I Lie To You came out. I loved that record and from then on I bought every release. I like their rock sound more than the synth. I love Revenge, We Two are One, and the last one...Peace (I think?)

Not crazy over Savage (but there are some killer trax on it...like You Have Placed a Chill on My Heart), Sweet Dreams, or 1984. They are a bit too cold sounding imo. To each its own. I am in love with Annie's voice though. I love her solo stuff more than anything she did with Dave Stewart.

Good thread...it makes me want to break out some of that stuff.

peace

Dude, check out their first album "In The Garden". It's got a band sound yet is still very underground sounding. It's definitely my favorite by them. Possibly her sexiest work.

Another great aspect to Eurythmics' career is their creative and stunning use of the video medium to add new meaning to a song. The cow in the "Sweet Dreams" video garnered nearly as much attention as Annie's orange hair! If you get the chance, go buy the Greatest Hits video or DVD. Not only is a better overview of their career, it serves testimony to their unique and incredible vision.

Anybody who watched MTV during its infancy back then will never forget the "Sweet Dreams" video and that cow. The biggest thing that always struck me with Annie Lennox was her voice. I was still a kid in school when the song was released, and I remember a guy with a deep voice singing "Sweet Dreams" in my class. If you would have been there you would have cracked up. It just reinforced my opinion of Annie's voice. lol

Thats funny - I saw your earlier post & thought I love Savage. Thats a cd I listened to over & over & over & when I play it these days it still is killer. I can never turn Beethoven up loud enough. But thats Eurythmics - they put out numerous killer cds. Like Prince any greatest hits collection just doesn't ring as true as one of their orginal cds.
And while I loved loved loved Eurythmics I never got any b-sides. All those b-sides you list are new to me. I can't wait for this to be released. In fact thats why I checked out this thread to see if there was anymore b-sides collection cd release news.
