AAAAHHH!!!!!
I've been tempted to start a similar thread. So THANK YOU!! Needless to say I love them! For me they have made the most beautiful music of anyone over the last ten years. Full stop. No contest. Ágætis Byrjun and Takk... are two of the most amazing albums I've ever heard. At some points they transcend music and plug straight into your heart. I could go on. But really there are no words. I can only think of 4: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful music.

Is there no one else who listens to Sigur Rós?
Seriously!? | |

Man Sigur Ros are da bomb.
I saw them like 6 or 7 times, and each show leaves you breathless. Aegaetis Byrjun is one of the best records ever! It takes you places you never dreamt of. However I was a bit letdown by Jonsi´s solo album.. "Time is a train, makes the future the past"

I played it through my office sound system and my otherwise usually calm secretary wanted to kill me

i love the first two releases. haven't listened to Takk a whole lot and haven't heard the latest disc at all. i saw them live about 6 years ago when they toured with the album leaf and mogwai, and that was an awesome show.

It's good. The first two are better. But there are just too many moments in their albums where I want to fast-forward

The most recent album is very good, without being amazing. 'Takk', however, is a masterpiece. I'd always put 'Ágætis Byrjun' on a bit of a pedestal and was reluctant at first to acknowledge that 'Takk' was that good. But now I can't split them. Their first 'Von' I find interesting but just too inaccessible. I've tried a number of times, but it's just not happening. [Edited 9/7/09 18:40pm]

They are one of my top ten favourite bands (go away, Ian ). The only concert I went to was mesmerizing ~ nothing like it ever. My dream is to see them with Bjork on the same night.
