I guess it was inevitable that people would be disappointed at Janet's performance - MTV hyped it up so much that people's expectations where sky high. It couldn't have helped with the huge pressure that was already on Janet.

Eh because your momentum and ability to do certain things deteriorates as you get older.It's the facts of life. Btw- Tina messed up the breakdown as well. Most of the dancers modified the breakdown to their capability. The only people making a fuss about her little slip are the fans. No one else noticed. It's not 1995 anymore. Some people need to give it over it. MJ didn't even touch the breakdown since '95 so for Janet to revisit that routine after 14 years is more then enough.

I didn't like the VMAs, the only things I liked were the Michael Jackson dance tribute (although I thought BET did a much better job), seeing that hot-a** she-wolf herself, "SHAKIRA"! And watching P!nk perform. Lady GaGa's performance kinda creeped me out.

Convenient isn’t it?Kanye West makes a scene on the VMA’s,two nights ago was the premiere of the Jay Leno show in NBC prime time and Jay-Z has an album that came out on Friday. Taylor Swift is now a household name, Kayne made a lot of people happy with that stunt.

Lady Gaga is one of the few people in the business that have balls (no pun intended) to be different and not be some cookie cutter bitch. I don't think it had anything to do with janet's age. If you look closely and listen to her voice, she was crying! It was very emotional for her. That was her brother! She then came on stage like a trooper and put it down!!To everyone else he's just another entertainer, but for her, that is family, her big brother who she adored. One thing about Janet she always adored and stood up for MJ. I can't believe people are acting like it was just a performance. To her it was a tribute and a way to honor and pay respect to someone she loved that she will never see again. Sadness.

I agree. I also think it was done to make Beyonce look like a hero/saint, and to overshadow Michael Jackson's tribute. I think Beyonce wants to be on Michael and Prince's level.
