My take:

Kanye acts like he's 13 years old. lol It was the only exciting moment in that part of the evening, but terribly rude.

Madonna's speach was as much about Madonna as it was about MJ. Janet did a lackluster performance, but it was about what I expected. She looks better plump though than she does skinny. The outfit was terrible, and the overall tribute was meh... MJ's blown the roof off the stage with his own performance so it's a hard act to followup. shrug

LOVED Pink.
I thought keeping her up there suspended above the audience the entire time was a bit tedius, but she looked fine as hell despite the silly outfit. love

I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE'S IN THE BLEACHERS! ..... I'M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!..... BEYONCE'S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I'M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I'M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I'M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN' THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE ... WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I'M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!! YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!! I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME... THAT'S WHAT IT IS!!!!! I'M NOT CRAZY YALL, I'M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I'M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!

I hope you were joking when you said that Beyonce's video is tbe best of this decade... there is nothing innovative about the video.. she basically copied it from another video... I'm not bashing but I dont see the big deal... such an average artist constantly being overrated... the show sucked I didnt watch of course but the tribute was touching. R..I.P. MJ

I agree with you about Beyonce. Single Ladies was nothing special. Beyonce copies everyone, and Beyonce is definitely average and very overrated.

The only thing I loved about the show was Janet's tribute to Michael. That was amazing.

I loved Janet's tribute-very heartfelt. (I hope some of you never lose a sibling, because karma will be dat bitch).

P!nk was also awesome and Alicia Keys looks and sounds amazing.

Beyonce made me laugh with all the trannies dancing in the background. It would have been truly funny if she rounded up Justin, and the Jonas Bros, and the fat dude, gay dudes and lil kids that made all the videos and had them on stage. but hey, there were trannies! But I couldn't really get into it anymore. She needs to go away for a while.

Lady Gaga, I don't know why I can't get into her, but her shows are innovative.

Kanye, blame it on the a a a a a alcohol. Seriously, he out-douches himself every year. He's turning into a bigger douche than John Mayer, damn!

I haven't seen the whole show yet (Tivo fritzed). sad But watched the shows on MTV.

I was just sayin' on the other thread these dumb ass chil'ren are lettin' that song trip them up falloff

I just can't believe all the bullshit I'm reading on this thread.

How can anyone honestly think that Janet's performance was good? It was bloody awful and embarrassing. The lip-syncing was horrible. I could've done a better job. She can't even get up there and sing live anymore. What a bunch of garbage.

I totally agree with you.

I can't understand why so many people on this thread are saying that Janet was "amazing." You people have lost your damn minds. SHe didn't sing, she was lip synching, and both the dancing and the lip synching were pretty lame and not in sync...and yes I agree she is moving pretty good for being 40 something and for having just lost her brother but that doesn't make the performance "amazing." It was the complete opposite of amazing. It was lame. You know what WOULD have been much more amazing? If she would have just stood there and actually sang a song LIVE and from the heart. That would have amazed the shit outta me, not this wack performance.

Have you thought about that she may have been riddled with grief and had a hard time getting through the performance? That's what I thought when I saw her do the solo part. I thought she was going to break down at the end. Wasn't the burial just last week?

I'm honestly not trying to sound cold & heartless, but I just loathe these types of "performances" that people like Janet and Britney and all these pop stars do where they come out and dance and horribly lip sync. I just think that aspect is lame. Jermaine Jackson's tribute to MJ, when he sang "SMILE," was WAY more touching and heartfelt and REAL. I'm sure it was hard for Janet to get through that performance, I get that, I'm just saying there was nothing "amazing" about it.

I feel you. I didn't mean to sound upset also (I hope it didn't come across that way). I get where you are coming from.

I think it was a good performance considering the occasion, but it was not her best. I did like the choreography and staging. The staging was excellent. The way it was setup, MJ was front and center for the entire performance. I also liked the sets that were moving. I loved how they edited out certain people/things in the videos during the MJ tribute. Great editing work. It actually flowed and didn't seem like a cut and paste job like a lot of these tributes have been. THANK GOD THERE WAS NO BILLIE JEAN!!

The whole thing was about what people would do for fame and how the paparazzi is to blame for some of the tragedy's that have happened to celebs. i.e. Lady Di. I think her song blames paparazzi and maybe even the fame seeker.

I just couldn't agree with you more. I saw nothing amazing about Janet's performnace. It was totally pathetic. I realize she is in mourning, but this has nothing to do with that. She can't sing anymore and that's just the plain truth. Her voice was always weak and now she barely has a voice anymore, so she just lip-syncs through every single tv appearance and probably every concert too.

Someone said it was the best performance of the entire show. What the fuck show were some of you watching??? I saw many other performers who were actually singing - live! I have no respect for bullshit like Janet's performance. Totally amateurish.

here is my take on it all...not like any of U care of what I think...

Janet - she did a good job with the dancing...A lil' slip here and there
but the attitude was raw...and from the heart I saw some michael in her

Kanye - He is a fuckin' spaz and he lost what little respect I had for him.

Lady gaga - I liked that her vocals were live...that little piano segment was
cool. the blood was confused I respect her but she is trying way 2 hard

Pink - The whole thing was too much...It was not about the music. It some
Barnum and baily's bullshit....A for effort though.

Jay-z - His voice was shot...he could have done better...

alicia - was cool on the keys...other than that neutral

Beyonce - Class act regurding taylor swift..her vocals were good but the
performance was lackluster...she did look beautiful as allways her
body is...oh my god

all and all Pop culture is at a depressing state right now...we need some Prince

I agree that we need Prince, but it doesn't look like he wants to be in the spotlight. He didn't even promote the new project that much, so I doubt if he'll do anything for a while.

Daddy issues, too. Maybe he needed a Daddy at home to beat his ass when he got out of line and teach him how to be a man. Then we wouldn't keep getting this type of behavior. Imagine if Beyonce had done something like that. I know Matthew and Tina would be up there so fast and beat her ass on stage for doing something like that.

You know, a mock human sacrifice satanic initiation. demon Bohemian Grove styley yay!

AnonymousCoward said:

The backdrop is a mock-up of the Merovingian palace. Look to the Matrix series and the battle at the Chalet for an example of this set up.

The stairs lead up to the top; an uncapped pyramid with the two pillars and the portal inbetween. Looked like an image of the Garden of Eden is at the top, in between the pillars. The illuminating image, New Eden/Paradise?

Her right breast was blackened and her outfit was staged as halves, echoing her video of 'Paparazzi'. Reminiscent of hermaphrodites surrounded by the androgynous dancers. Slaanesh from Games Workshop immediately came to mind, as their games are rife with Masonic/Illuminati symbolism.

Ritual blood sacrifice, with the rest of the pack feeding off of her as she hung in a semblance of the Hanging Man of Tarot.

'Lightning' shot out from the sides at the conclusion. Scripture gives a description of someone, or something, that falls from the heavens as lighting, no?

All this could be a coincidence though.

Peace.
