My take:

Kanye acts like he's 13 years old. It was the only exciting moment in that part of the evening, but terribly rude.


Madonna's speach was as much about Madonna as it was about MJ. Janet did a lackluster performance, but it was about what I expected. She looks better plump though than she does skinny. The outfit was terrible, and the overall tribute was meh... MJ's blown the roof off the stage with his own performance so it's a hard act to followup.

LOVED Pink. I thought keeping her up there suspended above the audience the entire time was a bit tedius, but she looked fine as hell despite the silly outfit.

My fellow orger and I was right in front of the red carpet where all of the guest were getting out. Kanye had that Henny when he stepped out of the SUV.

P!nk was also awesome and Alicia Keys looks and sounds amazing.

Beyonce made me laugh with all the trannies dancing in the background. It would have been truly funny if she rounded up Justin, and the Jonas Bros, and the fat dude, gay dudes and lil kids that made all the videos and had them on stage. but hey, there were trannies! But I couldn't really get into it anymore. She needs to go away for a while.

Lady Gaga, I don't know why I can't get into her, but her shows are innovative.

I haven't seen the whole show yet (Tivo fritzed). But watched the shows on MTV.

How can anyone honestly think that Janet's performance was good? It was bloody awful and embarrassing. The lip-syncing was horrible. I could've done a better job. She can't even get up there and sing live anymore. What a bunch of garbage.

At least B won for Video of the Year and Best Choreography. Those 2 were well deserving imo.

*By now you've no doubt heard about or have seen footage of Kanye West taking the mic from Taylor Swift when she was awarded the moon man for Best Female Video at the MTV VMAs.

She hadn't gotten a chance to say much more than how shocked she was to be chosen when Kanye runs up, and yet again, he has a problem with MTV's selection.

Poor Taylor just stood there while Kanye stepped all over her first time on stage. Someone needs to put this boy in time out from the VMAs if he's going to keep having temper tantrums. He may have thought he was defending Beyonce's honor by doing that, but he was nothing more than an embarrassment.

Mind you, Kanye hadn't barely left the room before he was online sending a blog apology to all of Taylor's fans, his fans, her mom, MTV, etc.

Poor boy ... either his mind ain't all the way right yet or he was paid extra by MTV to pull this stunt.

According to a RollingStone.com story where they printed his full apology, Taylor didn't seem too effected by the whole thing. She just mentioned that the night was "interesting."

what a great performance. yay. and her vocals were very good.
i especially loved the "crazed out fan" vocals at the end, with
the blood gushing from her boob. very cool.

i know it's cool to hate on her and all but i love this girl.

just because she's "special" doesn't mean it's a gimmick or
it's all rehearsed. if it was me, in her position, i would
be doing the same damn things. everyone else looks and acts
the same. why not follow whatever weird ideas pop into your
head for your music/performance.

imo she's more real than other, stripped down 'honest' acts
who conform to the norm.

I really cant stand today's music except from my fav legends but I am going to check her out. I heard that she is this generation Madonna and if she more of an old skool Madonna with a modern twist I might support her. I laughed how Eminem gave her a LOOOK when she was on stage.
