We all know Prince completely sucks when it comes to his business
dealings with his fans.

I mean, the boy just can't seem to run a business to save his life.

He's got more tunes than MJ has child abuse allegations, yet he
can't seem to find an appropriate outlet for any of his material
that garners the kind of financial returns he's capable of.


But I was wondering.. Are there musicians who are just as bad?
There's got to be musicians out there who've done some pretty stupid
or shady things for their fans.

I know if Michael had not killed over that many a fan would not have
seen the light of day with his concerts, but that's a one-off type of
thing--not an ongoing history of bad or shady business dealings with
his fans.


I can picture Creed or some other musical act pissing their fans the
fuck off. Or Guns N Roses. But I don't know enough about these acts
to know if they are worse than Prince is in a business sense.

sure, he could be making more money by playing it their way, but I think he's satisfied with both his income and artistic integrity. He's got the whole world beat, really.

The answer is right in your own post. It's Michael Jackson. He was doing pretty good up until "Thriller" and "Victory". Back in those days, every artist released an album a year. Michael himself was doing it also because if he didn't have a solo album out, then he had an album out with his brothers. But after "Victory", he got to where he wasn't heard from for like five years or so between albums except for being in the tabloids for either doing something weird or looking weird.

And then there's all the greatest hits and DVD packages he kept re-releasing with damn near the same material on them and hyping them up to the public as if it was a new release with material that people had never heard of. Even when they raided his ranch on the second child molestation charges, it was on the day of the release of his "Number Ones" album. And Michael's answer to that was...."They are trying to ruin the sales of my new release". Hell, it's a damn greatest hits package! The fans already have that stuff!
