It wasn't spelled with Princebonics!

"Would You Die For Me" was on the post-humous Born Again, which I know had re-made beats to go with the old acapellas. Even though that's the beat that sounds more like "Kiss"... it doesn't sample it.

Q-Tip was just re-telling a memory, he didn't make no Prince beats.

"Nasty Boy" off of Life After Death (1997) actually sounds more like Vanity 6 ("Nasty Girl") was re-interpreted after it didn't make sample clearance.

Yeah, Q-tip is talking about Biggie's original version of 'Nasty Boy' which contain a sample of Vanity 6's 'Nasty Girl' but, of course Prince did not clear it. So Diddy and the hitmen production crew re-did the beat and that's what's on 'Life After Death'. I heard a tiny snippet of the original version and it's interesting listening 2 it. Classic shit.

How you gonna tell me Im A Slave 4 U is not a take from "Nasty Girl" by Vanity 6? The structure and rhythm of the production is a 'new' take on said song where so is "Nasty Girl" by Biggie is i.e. "Would You Die For Me (feat. Lil Kim)" is to Kiss?

I wasn't trying 2 say that. I was just saying that the original (unreleased) version 2 Biggie's 'Nasty Boy' is based around Vanity 6's 'Nasty Girl'. The original contain the sample along with some additional production. The official version is less of a interpolation of the Vanity 6 sample. They kept the basics of the original but the went around it a bit. I'm A Slave 4 U is just like that. That's y u don't c no sample credits. The Neptunes did a cool job on that. They did the same with 'I'm Lovin It' by Justine Timberlake. When u here that, u're gonna think '777-9311' but, it's not really a sample. Of course, we know the basics of that was influenced by '777-9311'.
