Well this is when Whitney's drug problem had gotten problematic anyways. Of course she agreed to do it. Bobby's show wouldn't have aired without her.

If not that, I would have went inside packed my bags and left that night. i know i'm wrong but there's also the bit where she explained how she couldn't help but take part of that stinky reality show of his coz as his wife, she didn't want to feel excluded. i thought that was really sad. glad her mom interferred and got her out that crazy life. Doing the show is one thing, what she did on the show is another. And that was the show that turned me off from her. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I only watched it that one time it aired but it was basically a hot mess. Some parts were sweet but other parts were questionable. Hearing her tell it was just sad. Seems like she really tried and hung in there way longer than she needed to. Oh there was a part where Oprah was laughing and it wasn't really funny. I can't remember the story but Whitney wasn't exactly laughing for Oprah to be all guffawing like that. [Edited 9/15/09 10:42am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Why is it that when someone redeems his/herself from a tragedy, there are always ppl who hate on them for it? Like they'd rather see them in the gutter til they die... Haters...SMH I saw the Houston/Oprah interview this morining, well done. There is a fine line between picking at someones wounds for the sake of entertainment verses allowing them to tell their side of the story. As far as the comments on U-Tube, I'm going to assume these are mostly "kids" who've yet been knocked to their knees by circumstances of their own making or things beyond their control. It felt like a stone sitting on my chest the whole time I watched that interview heeeeeavy!
You could tell that Nippy was abit reserved and didn't wanna speak about the whole details, but that altercation in front of her daughter was its one thing to get ugly,,,,its another when your own child witness it. I'm glad she's back in one piece,,,,because there was a time where a Nippy's death news were just around the corner, matter o' fact, there were rumors about her being dead. Good to know that she's well. Lookin' forward to see part 2.

I can't recall the gentleman's name who had a show CNBC (of all stations) but he did a financial slash celebrity show for a minute: The year Ms. Houston's sister-in-law sold her story to The National Enquire. The host had on "The National Enquire" editor and some other main street journalist... they were like yeah, were are on death watch. "Don't be surprised if it's reported she's died - cause, drug overdose". I was like, WTF. I'm glad for her and family she was able to pullback and get it together, I wish her well and continued sobriety. Thank God for mom's and Momma Houston. ===== [Edited 9/15/09 19:01pm]

I love Whitney Houston's sincerity. It didn't sound like her voice was gone when she sung for Oprah, so maybe she was hoarse when she sung on GMA....
I understand her mother staged her intervention. We all know that those don't work if the addict doesn't want to be sober of drugs as well, so good for Whitney. I hope she stays sober and take one day at a time. Her album is pretty good, and I wish her the best! The message you are about to hear are not meant for transmission. datdude said: Wasn't I'm Your Baby Tonight a "departure" of sorts for Whitney from the poppish feel of her first two albums? I know its MY favorite album of hers and i'd say its her blackest album yet in that it feels like a true R & B album. LA & Babyface hooked her up
I like that album too. It was very underrated and had a lot of decent R&B songs on it. However, it was considered a disappointment at the time because it only sold half as many copies as her first two. I think that outside of the title track and "All The Man That I Need", the album was too R&B for some people. I also liked My Love Is Your Love. It was obvious by then that Whitney had lost a little bit of her range, but she still had some awesome tracks like "It's Not Right, But It's Okay", "Heartbreak Hotel", and "I Learned From The Best", and Wyclef Jean produced her title track.

I don't get why it was necessary for Oprah to mention that. It seems to me people were commenting on how insincere Oprah seemed by acting like she didn't' know how to get high when a few years ago, she volunteered the information that she was addicted to crack. The Media couldn't break her, Drugs couldn't break her and a fucked up relationship couldn't break her. Whitney is a Bad Ass! I love how she is always so candid when she speaks. A few years ago it hit the people mag or something that Oprah admitted cocaine use in her past... just like she drop the bomb about teenage sex and stillborn baby. I didn't even get too interested in it because it seemed like all the celebrities were either confessing drug or alcohol abuse or child molestation or rape. It was almost like the "in" thing to do. This ommission was not like Natalie Cole who told you heart wrenching stories of her abuse and damage to herself... it was almost like name dropping...
