Neither???? Nobody sold so many records as these two acts-both acts are absolute legends they will be remembered and heard in 200years from now.Elvis is even becoming more and more a Christ Like Figure for his fans-and the beatles are as the songwriting is concerned on par with Mozart.

PPKING: You are clearly looking for trouble, aren't you? People have different opinions and not everyone has to agree with you.

No question, Elvis and the Beatles are the two biggest acts in rock/pop history.
As to which is bigger, from purely a singles chart aspect Elvis had far more hits. He was also hugely influential on the Beatles in the early days. I personally don't listen to his music much, but I think an argument could be made that Elvis is probably the biggest. * * *

You´re right even John Lennon said before Elvis there was nothing- without Elvis -no Beatles.John Lennon, Paul were big Elvis fans who were hugely inspired by the King. Hmm so Elvis is really the biggest star of the 20 Century.

That said, the beatles had enormous singles success. They had 12 songs on the top 100 at one point & the entire top five My Legacy

But Elvis had a much longer time period in which to chart. He had over 100 top 40 hits in the US. Many of the Beatles classic songs were never singles and are yet universally regarded as classics, so its an imperfect comparison, for sure. There are definitely arguments to be made in both directions. But as much as I adore The Beatles, I have to give the edge to Elvis for making such a huge impact culturally, and having an incredible run of massive success over a long period of time. * * *

As you say there are arguments for either (or MJ, of course) but the Beatles are close to being the biggest sellers of this decade My Legacy
