I referring to strictly top 40 stuff.
I have Madonna and think she's absolutely fab. I have Janet.
I have MJ. I have all the big names. But I'm largely unfamiliar
with other new acts, and want to expand my catalog. I don't
need to music to be ground breaking or earth shattering. I just
need it to sound nice and have a good beat.


Any suggestions?

Well, it really depends in you are open to pop music in other languages. They are top 40 in their respective countries!

They make pure real good pop music, just in a different language.

Start with these:

1. Gato Negro/Dragón Rojo by Amaral
2. Todo Cambió by Camila (came out in 2006 but still awesome!)
3. Sin Frenos by La 5ª Estación
4. Entre Mariposas by Yuridia (slow but awesome songs)
5. Khalas Sameht by Nawal Al Zoghbi

I don't know if this is top 40, because I don't pay attention to or listen to the charts, but this is stuff I've heard on the radio in the last 15 years. Most of it is R&B because that's what I retain, since that's what I love.

When you say "big names", I don't know 100% what that means, but here's a few, take em or leave em!
