I have a Hendrix LP called The Cry of Love that I love to pieces, and I firmly believe that Joni's Blue is good for the soul.

I'm definitely a big Hendrix fan. It pains me whenever I think of what he might have created had he lived longer. Even if he just disappeared off the scene like Sly Stone, at least I wouldn't be left wondering "what if".

Anyway, my favorite album of his flip flops between Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland. Some of my favorite songs include;

Room Full of Mirrors
Purple Haze
The Wind Cries Mary
Foxey Lady
Manic Depression
1983...(A Merman I Should Turn to Be)
Freedom
If 6 was 9
One Rainy Wish

I want to get into Joni Mitchell more. I love Big Yellow Taxi and Help Me but there's a lot I need to hear still.

I remember my sis having this album, she got it on the strength of "Help Me" because of the "Ballad Of Dorothy Parker" and in result she became a fan of Joni.

I might borrow it from her.

eek How did I NOT see this thread?! Love both artists. There isn't an album that I have heard and own by Joni that I don't like. I can't begin to state the importance of Hendrix to my life. So that being said, no one can go wrong getting anything by either artists.

kinda got tired of slight return because every young player wanted to learn that for me it became "stairway"
