Rock 'n' Roll Animal At the end of 1973 Lou Reed was on tour after releasing "Berlin", and his concert at Howard Stein's Academy of Music in New York was recorded.
His band included Pentti Glan on drums, Prakash John on bass, Ray Colcord on keyboards, and Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter on guitars. In february 1974 the result of part of these recordings was ... 1. "Intro/Sweet Jane" 2. "Heroin" 3. "White Light/White Heat" 4. "Lady Day" 5. "Rock 'n' Roll" These 5 songs blew my mind the first time I listened to this record; I was a fan of Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner work on Alice Cooper's "Welcome To My Nightmare" (I became a Lou Reed fan later), but this one to me is their finest, love them! One year later other songs from that concert were released as "Lou Reed Live" ( Vicious, Satellite of Love, Walk on the Wild Side, I'm Waiting for the Man, Oh, Jim and Sad Song). Some videos from 1974: (Prakash John ) One of my favorite albums EVER! . Lion -- Go Peter go!! | |
