btw, Aisha & Jackie, you should totally check out the Precious press conference posted at Mariah Daily (it's embeded, not linkable )

it's a really excellent watch, and so funny too, especially once they get to the lighting/ugly make up story

apparently MC was trying to sneak in some make up into the set while Lee was busy, but little did she know for he has been keeping an eye on her so he came up to her, ran his finger through her cheek, and a chunk of make up came out he was like "bitch, what is this??" and she answered: "but Precious has make up on!"

were nice, however they have been done before...the uptempo tunes didnt have any staying power and only having ONE slow jam gem on the release didnt help. The rest of those songs were ruined by bad production to me.

I'm loving this CD. I only cannot stand one song, Up Out My Face. This CD is SOOO much better than e=mc2. Candy Bling is my favorite and I dont know why

Ok so I gave it a few spins.

Overall mediocre to poor, but that's still better than her two recent releases.

Passable songs:
"Betcha Gon Know" for it's 1998 throwback stylistics. The song is also fun for this line: "You're like 'You Ok?' I'm like 'Mmmmmi'm alright'" This phrase is probably the most convincing delivery of this entire album.

H.A.T.E.U. (Why not just "Hate You"?) - this one is okay, but I liked (shudder) Dream's version better. It was more heartfelt (shudder) and the lyrics felt less processed (too many syllables and variations of the main melody here, R Kelly comes to mind). And what is up with that shriek in the background?

It's a Wrap - Out of the box #a bit#, good.

Languishing - Awwww, she want's to have a rainbow painted on her ass again. Still, it's probably the most AC song on the album. Too similar to everything she's done before.

I Wanna Know What Love Is - I hate the original, and I'm not a big fan of this one either but it still is the best vocal performance on the record.

The Impossible - again, mid 90's r&b throwback, kinda fun.

Angel (Prelude) - we all know why, this must be what it sounds like when unicorns climax

Reject songs (boring, repetitive, outdated, pointless, laughable):
Ribbon
Standing O
Inseparable
Up Out My Face + and that stupid reprise
Angels Cry (for the title alone)
Candy Bling (again the title)
Obsessed (we all know the song is horrid, but let's not forget about the video)

One major problem with this album is the production. It's sounds like it was all recorded in FruityLoops. And the insistence to make everything melorecitative. Lack of well executed melodies, lack of authenticity in any shape or form. Too many filters on her vocals, to many poorly coordinated ad-libs (I don't mind good adlibs at all: "Underneath the Stars")

Overall, just another release by MC. Butterflies of the world rejoice!

The production, the melodies, the lyrics - it could pretty much all be the same song. That said there are a few cuts i really like.
