But her weight fluctuates a lot.

She could be pregnant, but she's certainly not saying anything at the moment.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves.
"In Touch Weekly" is a fact-challenged tabloid known for its inaccuracie and phony “exclusive one-on-one interviews” compiled from quotes.

Yeah, that cover is terribly misleading. She plans on being a mom but is not currently a mom. The entertainment media can't wait for every menstruating female celeb to become pregnant so they can follow their entire gestation and ultimately their poor kid around 24/7. So much so, they'll give them a baby bump off a burrito and announce their pregnant before they even know themselves.

I definitely don't think she cares about album sales anymore. She's done pretty much all there is and she really enjoys what she does so it's not all about sales. I definitely don't think Jermaine Dupri is the answer. It was time to move on from him anyway.

Thank you. 170K in the first week is not bad at all.

Her last album (released only April 2008) sold more than 400K the first week. You don't see how these new figures may seem alarming?

The industry's sales aren't that good this year so no it's not so alarming.

Ain't no excuse, lol

You think people buying Whitney were buying it because of its music? Marketing did her a good favor plus her showing up had people HYPED.

Mariah didn't really do that. She seems contended more so. Next project may not come until 2012, lol

Plus "Obsessed" didn't really do her any favors and she released the album too soon. Come on, "E=MC2" was released, what, last year? And that album barely went platinum.

She probably doesn't care. lol

Funny thing is, I hear Obsessed now more than when it first dropped. I hear it in stores, restaurants, people's cars...everywhere. I think E=MC2 seriously turned people off and was a big let down from Emancipation. I know some Mariah fans who hadn't heard the leak and were hesitant to get Memoirs because they were still burning from E=MC2 and weren't feeling Obsessed (which is a very MC2 track). I Wanna Know What Love Is? Been there done that in 198X and was a bad follow up single IMO, so it might take a minute for people to really hear Memoirs for what it is. Makes me think to Mariah saying that L.A. wanted her to go back in the studio and do a more pop sounding song when the album was already done. Really, L.A.?

But whatever the case, no one stays on top forever and in this industry if you're not number one every time and you don't move the same units you moved before its a flop. People throw that word around as much as diva. That's why I stopped watching sales and charts post-Bad era. While I wish my favorite artists success, at the end of day all I can do is purchase my copy and decide if I enjoy it or not. Watching numbers doesn't do anything for me one way or the other.

As for Whitney, I'd be surprised if she didn't sell well after an 8 year absence. She's doing exactly what she's supposed to do.

Exactly. Like I said, it's all about marketing and Mariah was way off this time than Whitney was. Whitney has Clive, Mariah has L.A., lol

HateU should be a good followup. It has radio play all over it, plus I think its one of the good honest tracks that she has done in a while.

And the David Morales thing....yeah, I really did not like these remixes on the album...they were not re-recorded so i just chucked them aside.

Mariah Carey, one of the best selling recording and performing artists of our time will make history, Saturday, Oct. 10, when her performance "Mariah Carey Live In Las Vegas" becomes the first concert to be simulcast to mobile (internet enabled phones) and other digital devices worldwide.

Presented by GDE Partners through their Iviago.com website, in association with the Island Def Jam Group, the digital broadcast, also available in high definition on October 24, will be delivered through Iviago's virtual global stage, accessible in over 200 countries via more than 235 mobile and digital partners including iClips and iTunes.

Virtual concert tickets will cost $9.99. They are available by texting Mariah to 313131, through Mariah Carey's official website MariahCarey.com and Facebook or MySpace page by clicking on the "Mariah Carey Live In Las Vegas" link, or by going directly to www.iviago.com, where a sixty second preview is available for viewing.

The concert stream will be sent on the day of the event to anyone who purchases a ticket, and can be viewed right away or saved for future one-time viewing. Like other digital video services, the content may be paused mid-stream and continued at a later time, but may not be rewound or replayed once it has been viewed. In addition, starting October 20, the concert will be also be available as downloadable video clips with a select number of mobile phone carriers in North America, South America and Europe. "Fans from all over the world can now share the excitement of a live concert, wherever, whenever, and on whatever digital device they chose," explained Steve Bartels, President/COO, Island Def Jam Music Group.

"Mariah is a great performer to debut our global concert platform," says Robert Kasher, a partner in GDE. "Her extraordinary worldwide popularity is a perfect fit to showcase this new approach for the dissemination of live music which we believe to be the future of live entertainment."

The long-awaited, sold-out concert is Mariah's first major performance in three years. Recorded live on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, it is taken from the first two of her four exclusive concerts at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas, which will conclude with two concerts October 9 and 10. The concert program being presented will be sixty minutes in length including introduction and will feature her biggest hits, as well as songs from her new CD, Memoirs Of An imperfect Angel, released September 29th on IDJ.

Wow! That's surprising considering the high profile promo by MC for her album! And btw, I'm loving it! I wish I could say the same for Barbra's album.
