gone too soon-MJ
i could NEVER listen to that song, i only listened to that song about 3 times in my life. it always made me cry thinking about that boy with AIDS and now with michael's passing. "we make our heroes in America only to destroy them"

If you listen to the lyrics, this has an extremely sad concept...it's about two people who are in love, but have different ambitions. She's a settler, he's a rambler, yet this doesn't come between them and you feel that love is still there, even though they aren't together....
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

"A Letter To Elise" does it for me personally.
"In The Yard Behind The Church" by the Eels isn't exactly that terribly cheerful either. Then there's of course "Sad Song" by Lou Reed.

When I close my eyes and focus on every aspect of the song from the composition to all the soul that Donny putted into this song. It just tears me up because you can hear his pain.
