Alright. Back on topic. TTD has had some great performances. Prince has had some great performances.
Prince is slicker and more polished. That's his style.
Sananda is the better vocalist of the two.
Prince is the better musician of the two.
Sananda is a deeper lyricist.
Prince is a better arranger.
That being said, its not a contest. you can like both of them. I do. So do others.

Apropo Prince and fighting. Is it true that prince (I think it was in 80s) himself stepped down from stage and headloked a fan who was annoying him???
The headlock was so strong that the fan passed out and prince went back on stage and the concert went on.

To make this clear I´m not hating on prince I´m a big fan and I like a lot of his stuff his One Nite Alone Concert was really great but I can see if someone is good and Sananda is a great artist. To put him down isn´t right.
There is enough crap out there to put down but not Sananda.

Sorry to bust your bubble, Luther vandross is not a diverse vocalist like Mj, the fact you say that MJ produces bland pop music says alot, or in way or another proves you don't know shit about pop music in general.

I bet you've never been o a Luther concert in your lie. You must be out of your mind. Luther is far more diverse of a vocalist than MOST singers. If you'd frequented his concerts like I did, you would know this. He CHOSE to do the music he did. You might wanna stay in your lane on Luther discussions, buddy.
And I agree, MJ was not bland by any means.

DUHHHHH...lol eek

I have never insulted Luther as a vocalist, I was laughing at the assumption that he is a better diverse vocalist than MJ,which is a ridiculous absurd assumption , I have a huge respect for Luther (RIP), but he was not a diverse vocalist like MJ, he is a great vocalist but not a diverse one like MJ , this my opinion , sue me ..LOL, Mj's voice is capable to deal with every fucking genre of music , can you imagine luther singing a song like "Dirty Diana eek

So for you a fan has to be blind? Sorry guys I´ve ears and if a fanatic says prince is getting better and better I just put on his last b... like from Montreux to check it out and I come to the conclusion the fanatics live in Prince´s Purple- Fairytale -Wonderland.

I love Parade I love Lovesexy I love 1999 but to say 3121, Planet Earth etc are great albums is just totally absurd.

Those albums mankind can live very good without-they are not gonna miss anything. Just lame songs. The same goes with prince live. You must be really kidding if you really think prince is live still a force like he was in the 80s for example on Parade Concert or Lovesexy. Montreux sucks biggggg time if you compare it to Lovesexy.
Lovesexy had everything-The Songs-The Voice-The Joy-The spezial Prince Magic.
Montreux has maybe the songs but in no way the Voice or the spezial Prince Magic.
In the 80s Prince was a superhuman a mystic figure and now he is just an 50 years old musician who goes to cheap TV shows like American Idol and Ellen what the fuck happend????
I´m mean really why American Idol?? This has hurt his legacy very much. The 80´s Prince would´ve shit on this show and now he sings there dull songs like Lolita -a song that could´ve been a leftover from Britney´s new album.Sucks really bigtime.
That said I´m still a big fan but I find it really funny if prince fanatics bitch about other artists saying they cannot deliver like the ole days...I´ve news for you Prince also cannot deliver like ole days.

Look at his Loita performance and than see Purple Rain Tour-The Beautiful Ones performance.
The first one is a 2 out of 10 the the second one is magic a 10 out of 10.
But the fanatics really believe Prince is like old wine rofl.

If his appearance on American Idol did anything, it introduced millions of young kids whose never even heard of him to his music.
We're talking about American Idol here... one of the most highest rated most popular shows in history....
Any artist would be INSANE if they were to pass by the opportunity of landing that big of a platform to perform for all of America
Heck, the Superbowl halftime is the only event that reighns above it.

Ellen knows her Prince records. She's been a fan since the beginning. Prince knows this and knows her love of music. He also has a sense of humor and loves a lady in charge. Why wouldn't he do her show?
She's won countless awards, been through a plethora of seasons, and holds high ratings.

Times have changed now, these hit shows are bigger than what you are making them out to be in your biased uneducated comments.

Prince can't do anything at this point to hurt his legacy.

I'm certainly down with giving a dose of reality to some of the more wack-job Prince fans...But it seems like you are missing some context here...What's the difference between Solid Gold (on which Prince performed on several times in the early '80s) and American Idol? What does it matter if Prince performs on Letterman (the '90s), Leno (the '2000's) and Ellen (she actually has one of the more critically acclaimed talk shows on TV...I think you have her confused with The View or something...lol)? It's all the same shit, right?...

I will agree with you that 3121 and Planet Earth are not even in the same area code as Prince's best '80s work and even his more underrated '90s stuff (the Gold release, Emancipation, and The Truth come to mind).

But when it comes to Prince's live shows since 2004 (especially the shows he's done in 2009), if you can't see that the man has been on fire, you really haven't been paying attention...It's the one thing the man can still fall back on.....Your opinion would carry weight if it was just indeed the Prince lunatics that have been lauding those gigs...But music critics and the press have been giving the old man props as well...

Hey, Prince may not be able to open up a functioning website (lol), but the man still kicks ass onstage...That's about the only thing that can't be disputed about Prince in 2009....
