i've always liked ttd's music. although lately i don't care too much
for his new songs anymore. "holding on to you" is brilliant though,
as is the rest of the vibrator album.

anywho. there is nothing i see in these clips that i haven't seen a
hundred times better on prince's Livesexy and Sign o the Times show
or in clips of the Purple Rain era.

i think i probably see why you like those ttd clips so much and they
are nice. but in no way shape or form do they come close to stuff as
wildly funktastic as the Forever in My Life performance on the SOTT
movie, to just name one example.

the dancing in that first clip is pretty basic and static. apart from
doing the spilts 6 times in a row, what else does he do? he snaps his
fingers and taps his foot, lol.

look at the "hot thing" performance on the SOTT dvd.

to be fair though we should compare TTD from 1993 with prince in 1993,
so the ACT II tour.

but once again. no competition. away from the horrible game boyz, the
moves prince had back then were tight and sick.

All you do is talking talking and talking. So show me the powerful rock Prince let´s hear him rock so hard like Sananda does in the video!!
Sign o Times??
Please dude that is stupid you think Play in the sunshine , I could never take the place, Cross rocks so hard?? They are soft ballads when you compare it to Sanandas Jumpin' Jack Flash Version. So answer one question without the bla bla where did he rock so hard? Which performance??? Just a name-let the action speak!!!!!

but anything rocking from Glam Slam 93-94 and the london O2 npg trio rock
show or the LA rock show pretty much shits over any TTD scream fest.

you say all i do is blablabla but all your precious TTD with his amazing
voice does is scream and whail on and on and on.

Prince & Sananda (and Michael Jackson too) are ALL awesome artists in their own right. This "debate" is silly. We are comparing apples to oranges. Everyone has their own taste but to debate which one is better is pointless. We are all very fortunate to have so much great music available from all of these amazing artists. Period. To put down Prince (who was and continues to be a genius and an amazing musician) in order to praise Sananda does (as someone mentioned) invalidate your opinion because Prince is awesome and in my opinion the guy is STILL at the top of his game in many ways. "Crimson & Clover" performance on ELLEN was great, as have been all his recent performances. Sananda is THE MAN in my book and is an amazing artist worthy of your time. If some people ain't feeling him, different strokes for different folks. To me, Sananda's music is incredible. All of these artists are great.

He kicks ass on that performance. Like I said, putting Prince down only invalidates your opinion because anyone can see the guy is one hell of a musician/singer.

So you come on a Prince site to argue that TTD is better and give examples. The Prince fans tell you Prince is a more talented performer/artist and give their own examples. Because you're hard headed you just diss the prince performances and continue championing TTD, and the Prince fans continue to diss you and stress Prince is better. 4 Pages later you're still here arguing knowing that they're not going to convince you and you're not going to convince them. For what purpose are you still posting?
chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

TTD has always been to me a Prince impersonator with (much) better vocals but less talented...

rolf Prince is a Hendrix impersonator with (much) less guitar skills
Prince is a James Brown impersonator with (much) less dancing skills
Prince is a Sly Stone impersonator with (much) less funk in his blood
Prince is a Little Richard impersonator with (much) less cool stage presence and the list goes on and on.

Go to a Jimi Hendrix forum they don´t take Prince on guitar serious he´s just an Hendrix / Santana impersonatir they´ll say.

First of all, I don't know why you are talking about Prince ?

I repeat TTD is a Prince impersonator with better vocals

Nobody can deny TTD's talent, but TTD trails far behind Prince when it comes to music, instrument skills, performing etc...

There's no comparison...

PPKING said:

Sananda has nothing in common with Prince music. His music style is more 60´s soul and his voice doesen´t sound anything like Prince.
Ok both have same dance routines that are similar because both were stealing from Brown, Wilson and Richard. But nowdays both artist don´t dance anymore so right now they have nothing in common anymore!

Oh yes he has a lot in common with Prince, and TTD knows it well, it's obvious that TTD is a HUGE Prince fan... And It's pretty much understandable taking the fact that TTD, just like Prince, is a lightskinned african american artist making a very mixed kind of music (which was very uncommon in the 80's)... There are just too many similarities...

And his record company promoted him that way... The new Prince...

There's nothing wrong with that...

And that's probably what helped him in the first place and killed his career at the same time... because being compared to Prince is a gift and a curse...

Well they say love is blind and I guess I have to agree. PPKing is so in love with Sananda that he sees what many of the rest of us clearly don't.

That Jumpin' Jack Flash vid didn't do much for me. It was just OK.

Asking who can dance better between Prince and TTD is like asking who is the better singer between Ciara and Keri Hilson. The answer is IS DOESN'T MATTER because in the eyes of a real singer neither of them are awe-inspiring. I feel the same way about Prince and Sananda when it comes to dancing. They are both entertaining but neither of them are Savion Glover. Prince has had a few slick moves but he's never been that impressive of a dancer and neither has TTD.

Well sorry guys, I just don't like it, I'd rather hear Prince all day ... and like I've said on an other post, I dont consider myself as a fan, I just really like the man music. You can make fun of me but I prefer Prince's vocals, strenght/power/loud does not always make great vocals ...
