Rhonda Clark, Donna Washington

biggrin Does anyone remember Rhonda Clark? She had a mild hit with Jam & Lewis called "State of Attraction" and a really powerful voice. Also, Donna Washington had a nice midtempo song in 1981 called "S'cuse Me While I Fall in Love" which was co-penned by Luther Vandross. What ever became of these two excellent soul sistas? Anyone got the 4-1-1? Thanks and peace. biggrin

I got a couple of Rhonda Clarks albums. Her first had a cut produced by Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis aswell as cohorts Randy Ran (R.I.P) and Jellybean Johnson.

"Stay here, stay near" is gorgeous. Anyone that liked Janets slowjams off "rhythm nation" may like this one:-

Rhonda Clark was one of the underrated singers who got lost in the shuffle, she was IMO a great singer. Donna Washington i've never heard of her so i believe i have a project to do to find out more info on Ms Washington.

Oh Rhonda Clark had a 2nd CD self titled of course which was mostly produced my gerald levert, she had 2 remakes on this release 1st single was (If Loving You is Wrong) I don't Want to be Right and a rousing remake of Aretha Franklin's I Never Loved A Man(The Way I Love You).

I LOVE me some Rhonda! Good 2 know that there are others out there who remember her booming voice! Donna Washington was on Capitol from 1980-1982. She recorded three albums: "For the Sake of Love," "Going for the Glow" and "Just for You." Her biggest success was with the second album which featured a hit single called "S'cuse Me, While I Fall in Love." It should have been HUGE, but sadly, was not. She resurfaced in the late 90's doing Dance Music. I have all 3 of her albums and she's along the lines tonally and vocally of Evelyn "Champagne" King. Peace! smile
